So, I have always used rubbermaid boxes, footlockers, etc.

YEARS ago, I wrote to them and told them they should make tack boxes. Never heard anything back from them...

Walked into tractor supply today, and guess what is in there???

Rubbermaid Tack Box!!! With padded seat!!

I've seen these before and even had a barnmate for awhile who had one. I was utterly unimpressed. For $100 more than a Stanley Mobile Job Chest, it just wasn't that fantastic. Sure, the Stanley doesn't have the cushioned top, but it also has wheels and a handle. And the Rubbermaid isn't any bigger than the Stanley--if anything, it's a smidge smaller.

I'd take a 50 gallon Stanley Mobile Job Chest over the Rubbermaid any day.

I have both. I loved the idea of the padded seat, but never used it. I can fit far more in my Stanley and the fact that it has wheels and a handle (which doubles as a great saddle rack) makes it my fav of the two.

Glad the Rubbermaid ones aren't so obnoxiously marked up in your area, then. Around here I've seen them for $150!
