This shouldn't shock me, knowing the two dimwits who bought him, their not even letting me know they were looking at him let alone bought him (yeah..thanks Lisa for letting us know about him...NOT).
But.. I walk into the barn this am and there is Baby Big Butt looking up at me!!

I don't know anything about it, like I said...

But as I was standing outside his stall, leaning on the stall wall, he got so upset that he couldn't roll (he had plenty of room but I suppose he didnt' think so) that he started kicking and finally, came right up to me and struck at me- several times. Luckily, there WAS the stall wall right there so he hit that and not me, but the intent was the same. NOT amused.
BO had a few words to say on the suitablility of him to the two dimwits, but I think it's no different than 90% of any of the boarders :shoot:

I missed the story that Mr. Big Butt ended up in the hands of dimwits....what happened?

I always like to say young horses (or dogs, or kids) aren't naughty...they just don't know any better. Not to say they shouldn't learn....but....

Poor boy. He's obviously confused and unsure. Hope it all works out!

Well this should be interesting to see how it all plays out Lisa. It doesn't sound like it's going to be great, but I am sure you swill keep us up on the trials and tribulations of Mr Big Butt, right?

Are the dimwits green? Or just dimwitts?

I missed the story that Mr. Big Butt ended up in the hands of dimwits.

You, me and everyone! He was all of a sudden just there.
Our barn has two ding-a-lings, one very green and one not as green, but believes herself to be a trainer so much so, that she told everyone that she was me

*yes, pause for stunned moment of silence*

No kidding. She has the same first name, and told everybody she was the "Lisa who was the english trainer at [our barn]". The first time she ever sae me, she even said that in FRONT OF ME. Then.. it gets worse from there... If it were up to me I'd turf her out as of last week.. but..

Anyway.. baby butt... is still rotting in a stall b/c the owners can't seem to manage to come up with the $ or time to buy him a wormer. This we know b/c the one already called a friend asking to 'borrow' a wormer, but after not reimbursing her for two previous wormers, my friend denied her the third and well... I guess it's just to much to ask, getting all the way to the store (on the way to the barn) and buying a whole entire wormer... :censored:

Oy shite! :shoot: :shoot: They sound like true pieces of work. Are they gonna try and pawn him off on you to train? Did they even know that you had been eyeballing him? So they just went and bought him without asking you if you were??????

Oh no, it gets much better in the details. Like how they tried to buy a horse out from underneath me (and were extremely rude to my dealer, who had the horse), insane behaviour of dipshit#2 (has been letting her horse into the thoroughbred paddock and then hissing about how barn owners will have to pay if her precious POS horse gets hurt.. except hers is the total wackjob mean horse who's already given itself permenant nerve damage and a drooping lip by being so agressive and it backfiring and isn't worth the price of any one of the TB mares) and dipshit #1 trying to discredit me as a (liscensed) trainer and coach, saying she is actually me and then that I"m not actually a pro (remember, in Canada, papered and liscensed!!).... wait there's more, much more, but hey, who needs to rehash it.
:mallet:

We have three skeeves in the barn, these two and a third who has nothing to do with these two. All three have already been warned, but the BO(who I just love) is wayyyyyy too nice and wayyyy too lax in letting the deadbeats and nutjobs stay for wayyyyy too long. :sigh:

BO will probably end up doing most/all of the work on the baby (for free), but there's only so much you can do.. I can't tell her how to run her business.

Well.. how to say this... he's lame. It's in fact the reason I didn't buy him.. I thought I saw something in him that wasn't right, and after reviewing a bunch of photos I took, I determined his conformation wasn't going to hold up to what I wanted him for, in the long run. You couldn't totally tell in the pics I posted, and I wanted him b/c he was so darn **cute** but I figured it wasn't worth the risk. Well it looks like he's already broken down. Now, it *might* be an abcess- I didn't see him personally- but the BO suspects something big and permenant.

Update.
When they told me he 'wasn't right' and asked how he went when I saw him, I didn't expect they were thinking in the terms of what I just witnessed (ok, so it was two days ago, I was busy).
On Wed, I was out talking to the BO who was again mentioning how he's much better but still not right. I asked if it was a burst abcess after all,and she said no.. but he was SO much better. Still something 'funny' about him. She also said that between the tme I looked at him and mentioned him to her, she had called the owner. Owenr said at that time that he maybe wasn't quite 'right'.
Well.
I went out to visit Hesta. It was a warm day and unfortunatly two warm (32) days in the middle of two freezing (-40) days is still not safe to ride a hot greenie. So I kept her out and was visiting her outside in her paddock, and when I walked back, there was Butt walking along the pasture side of the fenceline along my way back.
He is dead lame. Dead lame. In his own field, with the front shoes on. At two years old.
He was taking about half the stride I had seen him take at home, and he was in obvious discomfort. Poor guy. I feel so bad for the lil cuss. I think he recognized me, he walked along with me and I talked to him for a while. I also think he was quite sad and trying to convey to me a plea for help. I can't help but be distressed about his possible future with the two ding-bats who have him. They seem to think he's "OK" from what I can gather. He's definately most definately, not right.
If this is a 'huge' improvement but they still think he 'might be a little funny' then I can't imagine how he was when they brought him home. I only hope I NEVER catch them 'working' with him in this state.

I wasn't able to tell the BO what I know in terms of his absolutely being dead lame (I have seen him walk sound, and this ain't it, far from) but I will tell her asap. Not much (not anything) I can do though

onyx, unfortunately people seem to have blinders on when it comes to some things. THey just, for whatever reason, don't want to deal with it. :sigh:

I'm sorry that you're having to go through it though. It's tough to see it every day and be helpless to do anything about it!! :argh:
