Spent all days (and much of the night) at Heritage Acres yesterday. I was so impressed with the staff, the owner and the free food! Show was huge and ran well, it was a long day but no one lost their patience or their tempers. I was just so impressed with the whole day. AND they had the Packer's game on in the lounge!!! Woot!

Let's just say it involves not so professional business practices along with interesting emails and voicemails.

E&E, I don't doubt what you say but the show on Saturday could have been a really miserable experience and it wasn't...

I don't doubt that. I know HA takes care of those that attend their shows, I just refuse to give him any of my horse show business due to the reasons I mentioned.

And I'm headed to Swan Lake this weekend which may also be a customer service nightmare ;)

H-glad you experienced great customer service. I have a friend who attended (grandchild showed) and she commented about the huge number of horses (she thought the numbers were close to 200)attending. I agree, it could have been a nightmare. I have not shown there since the mid-90's, but I have never had a problem. I have had problems at SL-but only minor. I prefer to fly under the radar whenever possible. ;)
As EE stated, I have heard about the lack of professionalism attached to HA, and have also witnessed some things at other horseshows involving HA, but I am glad you had a good experience. Are the jumps still bland?

Jumps inside were anything but bland, lots of fill and lots of flowers and lots of stops(not my brave boy though I wish they had backed him off a bit).

Was really crowded. My guess is with the economy less people are headed to FL and with the weather the barns that usually take a break haven't had to so therefore BIG HUGE numbers at HA. Swan Lake will be more of the same I'm sure.

It is so interesting to hear everyone's experiences and opinions... I am hoping to start showing again in the area this spring, so it is good to hear all of the different opinions.

The total entries he listed in his email was 142 which is still a whole lot of horses for a one day show.

How did the lines ride, they are typically set on an 11 1/2 stride which makes it tough for those with step.

I prefer Halycon over Heritage any day. I hope to take Ms. Ella there to do leadline once spring arrives.

lines rode forward for my guy and were ads for most horses so i will say they were 12 ft.
