More help here. You guys have been great so I'm asking for more info. Looking for the best footing for an indoor. Don't like the felt. What do/did you use and why and how much did it cost? Size is 120x240. So, if you could have whatever footing you really really wanted, what would it be (and then who can I ask as to the cost?).

Not sure how helpful this is, but my neighbor's indoor is 90 x 180 and he got a quote for the waxed sand at $60,000. Needless to say the floor is still bare in there until a more affordable option is found! :psycho:

We have river sand and rubber mulch. Fortunately for us, the base is clay. Periodically, we have to use a box grader to dig up the sand which seems to compact from the watering system and tons of use. The mulch keeps the footing nice and soft.

Wow, $60,000. Now that's expensive (at least to me it is). I've heard of the river sand and the rubber. Mixing, now hadn't heard of that but makes sense.

Can't help you--i'm a fan of the eurofelt mixes. You should contact swan lake or look around their website...they have the same great footing as my trainer's ring, whatever it is....and it stays quite consistent when taken care of...but good footing is never cheap.

Can't remember the name of it, but the sand, rubber and cotton fibers mix is really nice!! I know Footings Unlimited offers it. Great to ride on and when watered the cotton fibers and sand tend to hold the moisture better for dust control.

Thanks guys - Horsechick - Does Silver Creek have a website? Will check the Swan Lake site out. No decision made yet.
