Hey guys - I was there too!!! At least for the last couple of hours and I even remembered my coat this week. My horse was great. Wonder if EEM will let me show him? Or at least keep a ribbon? :luck:

BTW, LGW, I watched your mares trips yesterday, she was really awesome. The jumps are as big as she is and she does not even care. Sorry you were not there to watch with us!

Holly, it was nice to meet you today! You had two beautiful rounds and your horse is just lovely. Congratulations!

I probably met about five of you today without knowing who you were. I went up to watch my barnmates and SilverBells ride and although I somehow missed SB (argh! I should have sped a little faster on the way!) it did seem that yesterday was a better day for him. I met the lovely Goodie, who is just a peach and so sweet, and a small Corgi named George whom I saw twice: once stealing carrots out of a grooming box, and the second time running as fast as possible away from his owner and Bev Abbott, from whom he'd gotten loose. I helped catch him and when I stepped on his leash he was in mid-stride and looked like he'd run into a wall. When returned to his owner, he was unrepentant.

That is hysterical!! :teehee: George is always trying to steal things. :P

JM - no, I will not be there. I am going to Lynn's. :)

JM, Frisbee, RH, Renn, E&A Mom... you all made my time at Swan Lake awesome... What a great birthday present for JM... CHAMPION!
I bit the big one today... circled at a jump and had a rail ... oh well! :)

Swan Lake is a very nice facility... good jumps, good footing and stabling ... alittle pricey though...

BUT I will not be going back ever again. I requested the A/O's be split since there were 3 olders and 6 youngers. Myself and RH were met by the manager with some hostility and I quote Lynn "you two better realize this ain't my first time at the rodeo". The steward Diane Braun was present as well.
I tried to be as diplomatic as possible and explain that that she could let the 3 olders go first with an open card, if we all got around ...done deal. If not the youngers could then go. She refused to entertain or even discuss the possibility... also citing the prizelist stated the youngers go first... but she has the ability and power to make these concessions ... and she would be in violation with the USEF??? IS THAT TRUE???

I have a great horse, and can ride just as good as the next person. I cannot afford to go to Florida this year and decided I want to qualify for Devon. I personally would have liked the guarantee of 5 3rds by splitting the division... so as not to pound my horse showing every week. And weather can cancel shows as well.. Since the olders and youngers are in the same boat qualifying ... we all wanted the split. Not at Swan Lake... not even any reasonable dialog. <_<

I should not be suprised... example... the pre-green classic went and the green division was next. Management decided to change the schedule and have the 2nd year's go first. Unfortunately the rider who had the 2 2nd year horses just finished the pre-green classic... and did not get to the ring fast enough... she no sooner had her foot in the stirrup and management said "you took too long... lower the jumps to 3'6"" on the loudspeaker no less. Real nice... <_<
To me any good that was done for the exhibitors at this show was over-shadowed by the negativity, inconsistencies, and demeaning treatment that I experienced. If you plan to show there, you may want to call ahead to see the ACTUAL numbers in the division. When I called before I left I was given an entirely different count of entries.

So I'm in the hotel having nap time with our horses final division set to start at 9:15. :o

That was early in the day too, before adds.
:mallet:

I suppose on the positive side the weather is getting better and our horses are being troopers...

Congrats JM, I saw your trips today and you looked awesome!
