Thanks everyone! I'm very excited and can't wait to start pony shopping! My trainer is very excited for me too, even though she's sad about losing me for a bit. They threw a really nice "going away for a little while" party for me on my last night.

Of course, I'm headed out there this weekend to hang out since it's supposed to be kind of/sort of nice...I'm not THAT easy to get rid of.

Congrats to everyone!

Sounds like much is going on this winter for everyone.

I am going to be on about a six month respite as I'm 14 weeks pregnant! I'm very excited, but also a bit sad to have to stop riding and helping Bullet progress. Guess our 3' debut will have to wait until the fall! That is, if whomever ends up half leasing him doesn't fall in love and give me the boot!

Anyway, I'm resigned to becoming a Horse Show Mom Extraordinairre (sp?) for the time being, so I'm happy to come cheer folks on whenever possible. :cheer:

That is great news! Congratulations lion!

Ha! Lion how funny! I am 20 weeks pregnant and I am still riding! Well I have resigned to not ride the stud and just lunge him around, my MD family is coming to Ocala and I will throw one of the kids on him. But my two greenies? Better believe it! Though not jumping higher than 3' I swear!

I don't know what I would do if I had to go six months without riding!

I hear ya Helen, but since he's not my horse, I felt the risk wasn't really worth it. A personal decision each one of us has to make really.

Happy and Healthy rest of your pregnancy to you! :luck: :cheer:

There's a book called "fitness, performance and the female equestrian" that talks about pregnancy and riding...a whole chapter's worth--the pros and cons--and reproduces an article that appeared in the then AHSA magazine that talks about it...and quotes several of my friends which is the only reason I know about it since i ain't spitten out no babies unless it's to sell them to buy another AO horse :P

I didn't ride during either pregnancy. The first pregnancy I did ride a tiny bit because I found out on Thursday, horse showed on a Sunday and then morning sickness hit me hard and I was done. I caught some slack but was so freakin' sick that I couldn't eat or drink let alone think about riding. I planned to trail ride in the beginning of my second pregnancy but Ella was doing something to my back and was in a lot of pain and the doctor said no and I listened.

I bounced back quickly and was riding within 6 weeks of having Ethan and shorter time period with Ella.

Well I have no morning sickness and no loss of balance. It's fun! But I have an unfair advantage, women in my family have freakishly easy pregnancies.

 The green pony is for when after Stoney shows him/her the ropes, right?

E&E's mom - thanks for sharing. I'm hoping it won't be long until I'm back in the saddle again, but I guess you just never know!
