We had a Farnley pony in my old barn in the mid 90s.

My first pony was a Bryn Mawr pony.

Although probably the most famous Benlea pony didn't keep the prefix ;)

I love the Farnley and Shenandoah ponies- I rode a lot of them when I was younger.

I always wanted a pony with a Prefix, it didn't matter which one. I finally did 30 years after the fact when I bought a Hillcrest for Ella.

I always wanted to find a no-name pony of unknown breeding who just happened to be competitive and name it Farnley Schmarnley. I think that'd be funny as hell. :teehee:

I knew a pony named "Farnley I'm Not"....and he wasn't....

I worked at Glenmore during and after college so I'll always be a little partial towards them.

Which one? Also, the most famous RosMel pony didn't keep her registered name either. I don't remember what the registered name was, but Strike a Pose was originally a RosMel.

Pony Dot Com. He is really Benlea Playboy.

Strike A Pose was originally RosMel's Blue Reign

I grew up in Canada and the famous ponies were the Findeln and the Llanderfalle (sp?) ponies. I believe a few of them were sold to the US and ended up doing well-Findeln Narcissus comes to mind. :)

We've got a Farnley pony at our barn... he's 22 and still going strong! He's the most perfect pony in the world. He doesn't do lead changes because he's old, so he lands on the correct lead. Every. Time. He's adorable.

In New England, the Farnley ponies were everywhere. Also Gwynned, Shenandoah, Liseter (as opposed to Leister), Syzygy and Red Lion.

I'm partial to RosMel ponies. I used to lease one, and he's the guy that restored my confidence, got me back to having fun riding and made me the pony person I am today.

I got a grand tour of Farnley in 1992....and I will never, ever forget that day. My beloved mare had just died and the Cardalico's were kind enough to buy me a lovely large pony to keep me going to the barn etc. (technically it was a lease I guess as their name went on the papers but he was mine for as long as I wanted). I will NEVER forget my day at Farnley. Ever. Ponies, ponies everywhere and there were simply so many to choose from. We also ended up taking an Emeryn pony home too- he was fantabulous.

I will always be a Farnley/Shenandoah fan!

Others favs include: Llandefelle, Longacre and Rowfantina

-JTN (who longs to have ponies again)

Growing up our farm had bunches - Farnley, Shenandoah, Hillcrest, Longacre... some REALLY awesome ponies.

I miss ponies. I want to buy another just so I can dress it up and fuss over it.
