My hubby has a 3/4 draft that we keep borium on all the way 'round. The Amish make his shoes for $40 and I think it is 40ish to put them on and do resets. The "regular" blacksmith that I use sometimes charges $60 to reset them - way cheap for around here. |

I don't have a draft-x, but I seem to recall my friend telling me that it cost her $250 to have her Percheron-WB mare done, with 4 shoes, drilled and tapped...and her mare is the ONLY "heavy" horse that her farrier will do. So slightly more than the going rate around here for a full set of shoes from a really good farrier... |
