I did this a Jr., but with TWHs. I had a very distant cousin with Walking Horses, and she needed a junior to show for her. It was great, I'd meet them at shows, wearing all sorts of fun blingy stuff (my show tack was patent leather!!!), the groom would toss me onto a horse and I'd ride my classes, collect my ribbons and trophies and go home. It was great- all glory, no work! I was actually Reserve World Champion in 1985 If money were no object I'd have a really good reining horse that lived with it's trainer and I'd just meet them to show. And I'd foxhunt

I have had a pretty varied equestrian past! Showed pony jumpers as a child. Did the Quarter Horse circuit as a teen. Was Reserve World Champion in the reining and third at the World's in the Western Pleasure (back when the pleasure horses actually moved!) Did dressage in my 20's and 30's through I-2. Now I do combined driving with a single and have a pair in training. I would love to show an ASB with all the hoopla! A total guilty pleasure. For all you closet drivers... Go For It! It's a blast

Anyone in my area who wants to ride a reining horse, feel free to stop over. I so desperately want to do cutting. I think its about the only thing Ive yet to do. Oh, and I want to take my ottb to the track and just let him run. Considering he can make it around a hunter course is about 4 seconds flat, I can only imagine what he could do on the track. I would also love to go foxhunting. I have the horse, been to a good clinic, just need to figure out how to get to one. |

Oh guilty pleasures I have many!!! I would love to do the QH Circuit on a really nice all around horse! ! Plus the clothes are to die for all blingy and matchy! Would love to go back to the jumpers and be fearless as I was at 14 on my junior jumper. I was fearless and he was bold and aggressive. I want that kind of ride again! Secretly love Fresians. Maybe I will get one for my "husband" that will be my excuse for having one!! Would love to be a barrel racer at one of those big world finals rodeos. Turn and Burn baby!! Oh and I want to fox hunt...on a big bold medium or heavy hunter! |

We dropped off one of our mares in Cville (Crozet, actually) for a lease a couple of weekends ago. At the end of the road was this beautiful racing facility and they told her that she could come any time she wanted and gallop her OTTB around. I was and still am so jealous. I wish I had something like that around me. Would've been especially fun with my old gelding. Too bad I sold him. <_< I took my small junior hunter foxhunting once. Big mistake. Would LOVE to go with a horse who knows the ropes or doesn't think he/she needs to lead the pack! I want to learn to drive a big carriage. Then I can teach Rob to do it and he can drive me around like I'm Cinderella. Did I say that out loud?

My deepest darkest horsey desire is to... go all out and have a sweepingly romantic photo shoot of me riding my horses side saddle in the full habit and accessories ;)! http://members.aol.com/LaFollet/1847riding.GIF |

hey all of you that want to go Foxhunting..........get your selves to Florida and I will take you! Some of the hunt members have some awesome packers to rent for foxhunting, and I have a pony and a clydesdale to take too! Although I must say the terrain is not quite ideal but it's still a foxhunt. |

Hmm...well... In my time, I've done hunters, jumpers, western (pleasure, barrels, cutting, and reining), saddleseat, sidesaddle, dressage, eventing, and foxhunting. So NOW...I want to DRIVE!! I've driven single a few times before with an experienced horse, but it was just in a little cart. Now I want to have one (or two!) of my horses taught to drive the pretty 4-wheeled vehicle I hope to have some day, so that George and I can go on some of the champagne drives that are held around here. I've been on one before and it was SO much fun... tooling along pretty gravel back roads in teh countryside while endulging in copious amounts of bubbly...

I am in Dade City, North of Tampa south of Brooksville....There is a hunt near you I believe.... I can find out. Most hunts welcome anyone to ride with them for a capping fee. You should come here and we will go. They hunt every Saturday and I can find out what Sat they have a horse available. Or you can just ride one of mine. Do you prefer Clydesdale or paint pony? Neither are jumpers I hilltop. But I can ceratinly find you a hunter to ride. |

I would love to do a cattle drive. Not quite sure why because it looks like a lot of dusty, dirty work but I would still like to give it a go. I have done the gallop on the beach many times and it is wonderful. I used to have a friend who was big in reining. She let me ride her mare and I damn near lost my lunch after the first spin. Holy Moly those little quarter horses can twirl like nobodies business. My first husband did the rodeo thing and talked me into riding a bull. Hmmm, wonder why he is an ex? The barrel racing was exciting though. Wouldn't mind trying that again. |

I am strictly an ARABIAN person. I've owned tons of other breeds and they just aren't for me. The mare I have now was supposed to be a western horse (like her daddy, TF October Night). Didn't turn out the way I wanted it. He was the 1990 US Nationals Reining/Working Western Horse along with Canadian Nationals and Scottsdale. He was sold and exported to Europe where he kicked butt! Her mommy was a pure hunter pleasure horse. She took after that but has some extra movement so she will eventually switch up to Country English Pleasure. My DREAM is to have a Arabian Park horse. I love the rack! I'm going to start taking English Pleasure lessons along with my HP lessons.Yippee! |

Oh...for all you dream cutters and reiners... MOVE TO FORT WORTH TEXAS. They worship cutters! The cutters here go for big $$$$. Try finding a HJ barn in FW....IMPOSSIBLE. You have to go to Dallas or the outskirts. Strictly western horses. They even have pics of cutting horses at resturaunts...even burger stands. Talk about love. |

oh oh oh! zbar - was your offer open to everyone? I've always wanted to go fox hunting but I do not have the horse to do it. When I was a kid my barn would go on dragged hunts and I never got to go b/c I didn't own a horse. I would always go and help to hold traffic and would stare after them with envy! I'll be in St. Petersburg in January for a week so I will be in the area. BTW - is it a dragged hunt or live hunt?
