The Plaid Horse has their stallion issue coming out.
www.wbstallions.net is a new site that is attached to ewarmbloods. It looks very promising.

I agree The Plaid Horse! http://theplaidhorse.com

It's going to be a great issue! I believe the advertising deadline in Jan 5th since it will be a double issue. ( Jan-Feb)

I like Hunter & Sporthorse, I usually get the stallion issue each year. Have been trying to get The Chronicle, but not sure how many breeders will support them this year based on the bulletinboard hooplah.

This looks like a nice site
http://www.breeding-stallions.com/
and also the Sporthorse Directory was direct mailed out to many people last year on CD. I found it very informative and nicely presented.

Silver Creek Farms made a good point that they were choosing to direct some of the $$ they spend on advertising to reducing their studfees. I think getting good foals on the ground to happy owners/breeders will be your best advertisement.

While I was at the LA national, not one but THREE magazines were being dropped off at every barn. One called "Hunter Jumper", one called Show Biz California and one thick mag, called "Central Equine". The last one very nice with interviews etc plus a large sales section and a stallion section. Not that many stallions yet, but a very nice mag for what it is worth. Comes out of GA - I'd never seen it before.

AS for the chronicle, since I am still trying to get "unbanned" , Robert Banner and I have quite a dialogue going on. He did say that they had more stallions than last year, so in the end, the broohaha may have done little to hurt their advertising. :psycho:

I sincerely hope that stallion owners do not hold the print magazine, a venerable, much loved publication that not too long ago was something we all looked forward to with baited breath, responsible for the fiasco on the BB. For whatever reasons, they allow Erin to do what she does, and I used to support her. But the magazine is a completely different animal, and doesn't deserve to be held accountable.

In the show ring

Seriously, if I was a MO I would not breed to a stallion that I only saw in print or in a video in a non-horse show environment. I would want to see how the stallion performed and acted at a horse show whether it be competing in the baby greens or in the working hunters.

Are you still planning on sending Redwine to John French to show this winter. I can't wait to see the videos of him showing if you are.

I strongly disagree. While I still subscribe to, and will continue to advertise in the COTH... they are most definitely accountable for Erin and her/their BB. It is ludicrous to assume otherwise. If someone chooses to end their association with the COTH because of Erin and The COTH BB ... that's their perogative. The Chronicle Of The Horse Forums are part of the Chronicle Of The Horse Magazine.
Not sure how one would not be held accountable for the other.

Moving forward, I look forward to the COTH Stallion Issue and the magazine every week. I also look forward to other magazines as well. The more places one can showcase their stallion ... the better. You can never get too much publicity.

Yes, I just left a message for John about dropping off Redwine in January. He'll be showing early in the year.

But Rob will also tell you that his BB is HUGE with 30+ members, well he does have that many members, but a lot are banned members, and members who never use the BB anymore! ;) Only about 6k are active....Rob does not really keep up on the BB and will let Erin run it as she sees fit. He has made that very clear by not stepping in and letting Erin do her thing, whatever that maybe or not be.
