The Web Site of Sicko

HIS IDEA OF TRAINING A HORSE-Some is pretty cruel with the ropes on the legs and his idea of reining with a slidding stop is sick!!

Sorry, I didn't see the need for such hysteria. He is Chilean, for one thing, and obviously they use different methods than we do. But I didn't see anything cruel, or anything that wasn't typical of older methods in this country. The horses were in good flesh, seemed happy to see him, so who are we to judge?

Hum....Lauriep did you watch the entire video of the breeding? :brickwall: I highly doubt it..so maybe you should go back before you say these are common practices and view the second video!!!!!!! :pissed: If after viewing the second view, please tell him who :psycho: breeds their stallion in such a dangerous and crazy manner??? I'll be waiting for that one!!!!!!! :spew:

It was the breeding video that I dont like.
Here we are, teaching young stallions, not to act stallionish under saddle and then he is breeding while in the saddle! :brickwall:

I thought the breeding video was very odd and seemed dangerous for everyone involved. "Macho" is very much still admired in some cultures. We may not agree with it and would prefer to see different methods, but he obviously has had some success. Many of the horses seemed relaxed and well behaved. Would have to see the entirity of his methods in person honestly.

I didn't see the breeding video, but was referring to your comments about his training methods.

OK, link me directly to it, I don't see it.

Pretty bizarre is right! It's almost as if he's trying to participate in some weird way....I just cannot imagine WHY anyone would do that. Cultural differences aside, I'd file that under TDI (truly disturbed individual).

Sorry, I took the underlining for shouting, not as more links.

I'm still on the side that just because we don't do it here, that way, is it necessarily wrong? I certainly don't know Chilean culture, particularly with regard to horses, and so how can I say this isn't a highly effective method, or in some way necessary? Maybe this stallion was a problem breeder who responded to this guy's handling, and so was able to get the job done.

Pardon me if I am not so quick to tar and feather as others on this board. More information would be necessary.

No shouting LaurieP.

I don't think these horses look very happy here in this link..check out ALL the photos...the legs being tied, just does not look like a "training" method to me. And check out the expressions on the horses faces. They sure don't look happy to me. IF you went through the FIRST link and then go to gallery there are many photos of unhappy horses..IMHO.

This link is for LaurieP to copy and paste..second below is direct link

Norsire, I'm never going to judge ANYTHING based on one moment in time's picture. And I'm not sure why you are wasting so much energy on something totally out of your control, not to mention country, hemisphere, etc. I personally think there are many other travesties right here in the good ole US of A to worry about, not some Chilean cowboy running his own business thousands of miles away...

Well, since we're all chiming in here, I thought I would write and say I've got to agree with Lauriep on this one. The breeding one is a little scary, but while I watched the other links yesterday, I didn't see anything that made me think of horrible abuse or neglect.

It's pretty hard to make a judgement based on a few pictures on the internet. <_<
