So, my electrogroom arrived Saturday and I was too busy to unpack it...i'm almost afraid. has anyone else had one shipped? what's in the box? should i be scared? I'm bad with tools!

The thing is really basic, literally, it is one big box on wheels and the manual is not very informative. I think you just put the hoses in to the vac (if not shipped that way already) and there will be a few attachments for the horse-facing end.

There is no bag or anything like a regular vacuum, just empty the metal bin.

I'm getting another jet black horse over here so this will be a blessing for the winter!

Rachel, you'll love having one of your very own. I had DH buy me mine as my wedding present.

One thing I found out when I retired my old horse and the vac didn't get used for about 18 months--if left to its own devices, the hose will crack at the point where it comes out of the body of the vacuum. I hang mine up so there are no kinks or pressure points that will encourage it to separate at the rings.

It's kind of hard to describe. :psycho:

So how ironic is this...

My mother went to the dentist and struck up a conversation about horses with the receptionist. Who it turns out just sold her horse and is now looking to sell her lightly used ElectroGroom?!?

I called and left her a message. Hopefully she'll call me back.

Of course, this was all filtered through my exceptionally non-horsey mother. So it could turn out the the receptionist is selling a camel saddle or something totally random and my mother got the message garbled...

We'll see

No, but I use my Dyson on them all the time and it works amazingly!!! I need to buy some attachments to really groom with it properly, but it sucks the skin right off them and they come out spotless.

I have that Metro Vac N Blo - not impressed. I mainly use it to vacuum out the feed bin. I'm anxiously awaiting my new Electro Groom, which should be here by the end of the week

They have the Metro Blow where I board, and I am hoping to come across a used Electro Groom to buy as a barn gift.

We got our trainer one last Christmas at Dover, they're usually a safe place to check because they're always have those closeouts.
