I don't know about the dorsal stripe 6lbs. I know Kiddie doesn't have one. I had heard the same thing though. Mary |

If it doesn't have a dorsal stripe, its not a dun.
My buckskins go through evry shade of Taupe throughout the year. Steve goes a lovely grey/mousey colour in the winter, like silver with taupe underneath. Pearl goes dark, like bronze with an aged patina. Bunny goes dark chocolate. Each spring when they shed out, they're a lighter shade of buckskin than they were they year before. The palominos seem to change just as much! you NEVER know what each season will bring. They seem to get darker with each passing year. The buckskins sure are easier to keep clean looking, though. They camoflauge the dirt very well, and black manes and tails are WAY easier than trying to keep whites white. we definitely need more pictures, though.

All I can say is they will be able to wear alot of colors as all grown up hunters. Blue jackets, greens, brown, black...I don't think gray will go well, but I do prefer happy colors. I think they will look great in the hunter ring, dark legs, dark manes and tails...... The only color i'm not seeing is red in the coat......the cremello gene? removing the red? She got really dirty when she was born....the light milk color.....but now the dirt blends in with her coloring... Getting pics taken next week, so I'll post them when I get them. She is growing really fast and changing so much....her neck is fuller and her back has filled out....I'm still waiting for the fugly's...I think she keeps looking better. Everyone else can post pics!!! Still waiting to see the bucky paint. |
