Pouncing can be done from a crouching position, which I just call pouncing. But the jump and pounce is a leap off the ground from all fours, with a hump in the back, and sort of levitating to the desired target and bringing all kitten ferocitude upon said target. Mr. Fishy's favorite kitten move is the bean-eat. (We call kibble beans). Monkey, our current little kitten, takes one bean-bite and then kind of shakes his head around to get it to his back teeth, then closes his eyes and chomps away. Of course, the kitten-yawn, the loaf-position, the crab-walk, the bite-bite-kick-kick of a toy are all good moves, too!

I like the stiff-legged sideways scuttle (could be your crab walk), where they hump their little backs and skitter sideways - either towards something (prior to pouncing) or away from something that startled them. skitterskitterskitter! |

Oh geez, how could you choose a favorite? They are all cute.
Although I'm with you Fish Cheeks, I do love pouncing. Last summer there were barn kittens, and we had so much fun watching them pounce on anything that moved.

I like when they're HYPER HYPER HYPER and then BOOM, they fall asleep right in place in the middle of the hyperactivity. Often in a shoe

Well I saw a cool one the other day. It was the "pounce on top of horse while horse's owner is busy cleaning legs and doesn't notice a kitten-leap onto the horse's back". Then calmly meet the owner eye-to-eye from horseback as she stands up from leg-cleaning. I felt that one was pretty impressive. Otherwise I"m pretty up with anything a kitten finds to do!

I have by far the silliest two kittens ever. They do so many silly things on a regular basis. My one, Kiko, will only lay upside down. She will not lay on her stomach. My other one Maya makes 'mean' face and attacks everything. She hunts for twist ties that she knows she is not allowed to have. My boyfriend ends up with a lot on his desk from computer stuff, and she will sneak very quietly to grab one, then run like hell to go hide it. Soooo funny. Every night Maya will climb on top of Kiko and start licking her in the face and ear. Kiko puts up with it for about 2 minutes and then they start boxing. Its all fun and games, no one ever gets mean. But its so funny to watch. They also love to shred carboard. Its so weird. This is Maya playing with balloons http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dCrZQgFpeA This is Kiko when we got her http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQIbiIBKUgM Kiko getting stuck in a box: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVE2p5hkZhE Maya mean face, her ears go flatter then this most time

Aww...I love all things kitten. I got Lola when she was a year and a half old, so I missed the kitten years, but my personal favorite Lola move is when she is just cruising around like she doesn't have a care in the world, then all of a sudden she takes off like a bat out of h*ll. We can't figure out what she is running from, but it is hilarious to see. |

I love the Halloween Kitten move - where the hunch up like a big mean hissy black halloween to try and be all big & bad. The last little kitten we had used to do this - except she weighed 3/4 of a pound and could fit in a mug. It was so hysterical to see her hunch her body up like a munchkin inchworm and hiss at the older cats (who at the time weren't convinced that she was actualy a cat). She thought she was sooooo big and bad and tough. |

Fishy, you know with my 3 kittens there are more moves than one could describe!! Betty Lou is famous for many moves, including total sideways actions, arched back, evil eyes and wiggling butt! Perhaps my favorite is when one is hiding behind an object and another comes running by. This usually cause a huge explosion with kittens leaping high in the air, most often colliding!
 They bring me hours of entertainment to make up for my frustration with their total destruction!!
 I love to hear of our love for our kittie's and their antics!!! It brings joy to my heart!

There is nothing quite like a cat/kitten, is there? Don't get me wrong, I like dogs just fine, but nothing warms my heart like a cute cat doing a decidedly cat-like thing. I just love cats! I love when they hide underneath something, and most of their back end and tail are hanging out, but they clearly think they're being stealthy. I love when they are so excited, but trying to "hunt," so they're crouched down and trying to be still but the excitement is so great that they're involuntarily twitching all over. I love one thing that Crosby does, in particular. He always gives "fair warning" to any toy he's going to attack. He'll walk by and meow at it, then keep walking, then SURPRISE turn back around and full-on attack it and chase it all over. It's like he's calling the toy out when he meows at it... "you want a piece of Crosby?!" |

YES! This kills me every time. I also love when they're learning to walk up and down steps - front half up, back half up. Front half down, back half down.
