I don't have pictures and I don't have video but, last Sunday, I rode my girl...

I got on in the sand ring, where she has been less than thrilled ie bored, the last two weeks. We walked, then trotted, but I can say she was not exactly moving on, she acted, well, annoyed - she behaved, but move out she did not.
So then, DJ said, let's go out! And with DJ walking, we left the ring. And the minute we did, my Simone pricked her ears and walked out like a queen. And we strutted like that around the property till we got back to the "grass" ring, which is a whole lot bigger. So DJ said, do you want to go in there and trot, I think she will like it whole lot more - so we did. And dang, if my baby didn't trot out like a princess , and folks around admired, and said they had no idea she move like that, the wonder two year old, and I cried, and we had a blast. :cheer:

And so, I got on my baby, who I watched get born, and I fell in love all over again :cloud9:

I am so happy for you! What great news! Simone is certainly a very lovely girl. I can't wait to see pics!

How old is Simone? I think you said she was 2? Just wondering 2 and how many months. Thanks!

Simone is 2.5 years - eek, 30 months old. She has been, by all accounts, a quick study. She is now turned out for the next six months. I do not have pictures of that historic ride (except in my head :teehee: ) - as I did not think we were doing that on her last day with DJ. So I share with words.

I will have a video soon of her days under saddle... :)

Simone is adorable! I had a similar episode with a Jack donkey, only I was riding a not so steady, very recently off the track OTTB. Sounds like your Simone was much better behaved than the mare I was riding. We went sideways into a big field at mach 10.

You must post pictures of you riding her. It has to be the best feeling in the world. I am glad you are turning her out for 6 months and let her mature. She really looks adoreable.

waah - I just got word, after asking for the last two months, that all the video I thought taken came out a blurr. Waaaahhhhhh. :pissed: :pissed:

thank you all! - I loff her - and I have the memory of my ride so firmly etched in my brain bank that I can go on that! :cloud9: She is happily out and about in a large field in NC and now my only dilemma is whether to breed her this spring!

ahh, Limerick, it is a consternation! I may wait out a year, see how she is doing under saddle. I have the youngsters coming up too, she I can put on the back burner so to speak. she is my keeper so no rush!

I am Hanoverian bound, and I love the jumper blood, so I have looked at Contendro (drool ) and As Di Villagana (drool) - but the jury is out -

so many cool stallions to choose from :innocent:
