I have a 4 yr old (born 6/03), 16.1 hh (and still growing), plain blood bay TB gelding for sale (show hunter bred, not track). He is a very nice mover, and his jumping is coming along very nicely. He's jumped up to ~2'9", including coops, roll tops, picket fences, planks, flowers, small liverpool, etc. He's very brave. He is VERY quiet, and he has the perfect hunter stride/pace. He pretty much just lopes along, whether he's doing a 12' or a 14' stride. The pace never changes! He's still green on jumping, so not for a beginner (we only have a grass riding area at home yet, and I'm not jumping ANYONE on it at the moment, so he only gets to jump when we haul over to another place to use their ring). He goes in a happy mouth snaffle, and has a very soft mouth. He does his lead changes on the flat, but we haven't focused on them yet between fences. Great to hack out, and hilltopped last spring a few times. Loads, clips, stands for farrier/vet, etc. He does crib when he eats, but you can control it with a collar. (It doesn't really bother me, so I don't keep one on him very much). He's been both outside 24/7 and in/out 12/12. He doesn't change either way. He's VERY laid backed. This horse is going to be an *amazing* show hunter. I've reduced his price to $10,000, as I am in my first year of law school and don't really have time to do him justice for a while. I have pics of him from last fall on my website (look for Pembroke). He's moving even better now that he has learned collection and to use himself. |

Update: I've reduced Pembroke's price to $8,500, as I really need to have 1 less horse before law school really starts kicking my butt. He also jumped 3' for the first time this weekend (effortlessly). I do want to reiterate that he is NOT off the track. He is a show hunter bred TB, by Wolf Talk out of a conformation hunter mare. |
