Good luck handwalking. It always seems that the things I worry about turn out fine. Wishing the same for walking Sammy!

(Spacely do you really think she'll notice if your house is spotless as long as she gets to see her baby?)...........

:teehee: Well, she's 3 hrs ahead of me so I think if I keep her going from dawn till dusk, she'll be so tired she'll come back home & fall into bed & won't notice the house. Of course, I will do the same thing. I am Lazy with a capital L! :one:

Good luck with the handwalking.

G = I wish I had a good one to pony from. It would come in handy. Unfortunately I don't really have one I would trust other than his mother and I can see bad things happening with that! :jaw:

I'm thinking this is the time when my daughter gets to "own" him! :innocent: She's much quicker on her feet than I am.

Spacely - I think you have a plan! Perhaps a little stop for drinks on your way home and you're golden!

Alicia - perhaps his other grandmother needs to come up and help. It's about time you got to see him.

Gee guys, one would think I am a princess or something. If you could see some of the dives I have stayed in during my horse show days on the road, you would die. As long as there are fairly clean sheets and no bugs in bed or bath, I could care less. Don't forget, I share my house with three corgis, none of whom shed in the least. Not!

Desilu - you are correct. I could care less where I hang my hat as long as I get to see the Duke.

Good luck walking Sammy. Just make sure you have you steel toed running shoes on and mints in your pocket.

:teehee: I am just teasing (you know I had my bitch hat on yesterday). Clean sheets, no bugs, maybe a few cats & a Pit Bull if you're lucky, but it's all good. ;)

Gee, a cat and a Pit Bull is better than what I usually share my bed with. Sounds good to me. :one:

Only 8 days until I see the Duke!

Handwalking officially begins on Tuesday - 10 days post op. I may not survive to see the newest pics of Duke........... ;) Sammy is such a little cuddle bug. I think he's just conserving all his energy and planning his choreography for his airs above the ground display. 2 weeks of handwalking...........I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.

Don't worry about the house......keep her out all day, and stop for drinks before you get home. She won 't notice or care. :nyah:

I think he will be good. The Escapades seem very sensible so hopefully that will help keep 'four on the floor'

Good luck.

He has been so sensible so far I'm afraid to push our luck. I don't really know how he'll take to continuous walking (without grazing) for a full 15 min at a shot I see some ambling grazing time in our future.

It has been very hard to keep him cooped up but it will also be hard when we turn him out for the first time too! (even in a small paddock for 3 weeks) I'll be on pins and needles to see what kind of damage he can think of next............... :spew:

I can't stress enough how pleased I am with his easy going personality. He is exactly what I was hoping for when I "interviewed" stallions. He looks for people and trusts, no matter what we've done to him. Escapade's temperament has really been a great compliment to my mare's and nothing so far has been traumatic for him, including the weaning. I can't testify to all of Escapade's foals but I do know that I struck gold with this one. Now let's hope he doesn't prove me wrong once the walking begins. :innocent:

Day 1 of handwalking done....only 13 more days to go. :one:

He had a couple of moments of uncontained energy (can't really blame him) but overall - it was pretty uneventful

He sure is looking more grown up these days.

It must have happened while he was stall bound.

Clearound - Are you packed yet?
