Few things get me going like horses being ruined by bad shoe jobs. I hope you saved this one in time! It's amazing what some people are calling horse shoeing out there. Breaks my heart. I am very thankful for my excellent farrier. I too would be curious who was shoeing that horse. Already looks soooo much better.

I just shook my head at the before shots, and also at the fact that apparently this farrier's clients think he is "excellent." Why is it so easy to find examples of farrier work like this and so hard to find examples of truly good work?

She's looking much better after the first visit from your farrier, lets hope they didn't cause any irreparable damage. Good job LBB!

Unfortunately I was late to work and only snapped a couple shots... all from the front. UGH! It's too bad I did not take side shots because it was a big difference from that angle already.

The really good news is that I have found this horse a new home. Someone I've known for a LONG time who is a breeder. I completely trust these people and know they have the knowledge and resources to give this horse the best life possible and the best chance to be a happy, sound horse. The plan is for them to breed her and work on getting that collapsed heel to grow out over the next year. Then hopefully after the baby, she'll be ready to go to work. They have a really great farrier, too!

It kinda all happened so quickly -- I got a call late Friday night and delivered her on Sunday. Word travels fast, huh?! I have the utmost respect for these people and would send any of my horses to live with them (well except Barbie, she's never leaving my sight!!! <3 ).

I see these people on a regular basis so I'll be updated on her often. I will make sure and post updates. :) They totally fell in love with her... she really has the sweetest soul....
