Yeah, it's a vent. I'm feeling pretty darn sorry for myself but at the same time at loss of what to do. Three weeks ago, I took a tumble from my beast. It wasn't too bad but I fell nevertheless. Two weeks ago (tomorrow), I was rear ended. I drive a SUV and was hit by an 18 yr. girl driving a Jetta. Her front end was creamed. Two days later, I get rear ended AGAIN!! (This time a pick up truck!) I haven't been involved in an accident in 20 years and then I get rear ended twice in 2 days. At the time I felt fine and if you saw my car you would never believe it had been hit once, let alone twice. I continued to ride since I felt fine but then last Wednesday, after I got off my horse, my lower back was killing me. I have been to a chiropractor (twice) but felt he was truly second rate. I am going to get an x-ray this week though I am wondering if that is going to really show anything as I am sure this is muscle trauma. Has anyone else here experienced this? If so, how long were you down for? I am so bummed right now

I'm no doctor but it could very easily be muscle trauma. I hear you on the rear ended thing - I swear, I'm a magnet. And it's always when I'm doing things like stopping at a stop sign. Most recently I was making a right turn from a legal turn lane, in the middle of DC. Was about halfway through the turn, turn signal on, there were people in the crosswalk so I slowed to let them pass... BAM! When I pulled over and stopped the person informed me that she was "JUST TRYING TO GO AROUND ME!!!" Totally dumbfounded. Where did she think she was going to go? Into the crosswalk full of people?

You've had your 3 (unplanned dismount, 2 accidents) so you should be free and clear for a bit. Hope you feel better

Back problems are no fun! I had two falls last year that resulted in a combined 2 month riding layup...however, I wish I had taken a little longer to heal as the residual problems I created by riding again came back to bite me in the a$$ this year with another 3 weeks off and several unfortunate ER visits due to pain. Feel better and don't rush....you only get one spine. |

Go to a different chiropractor. Ive found some are great, some are horrible, some are good for one thing but not another. I have two I go to, one for my lower back, one for my upper back. I also have a list of ones I wont go to. If it does involve muscle, which Im sure it does, they almost all do, then its going to take a few days or more of going each day to get it to stop hurting. Also talk to your regular doctor about physical therapy. |
