Cross posting :) If any one can donate anything, it would be very apreciated.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am on the board for the non-profit organization Northern Virginia
Therapeutic Riding Program www.nvtrp.org. You may have seen our barn going
up in flames on the news yesterday morning. We lost all of our tack, food,
medicines, etc. Luckily, the horses and staff are all ok. If anyone has tack
in good condition, please let me know. I am going out of town as of
tomorrow, but will have access to email and can have one of the staff or
board members pick up. We need halters, lead ropes, saddles (english mostly,
but western also used), stirrups - everything! Donations are tax-deductible
and a receipt can be provided (let me know if you want one and the approx
value of the items for donation).

Please email if you have anything!
Thank you,
-Karen Hoff

This is SO sad. What a wonderful group these folks are--I volunteered with them years ago as a high schooler and they were one of the best TR programs I've seen to date: well-qualified and certified instructors, horses in good weight and not overworked, even "graduated" some of their riders to regular riding lessons. That was back in the days when they were still building the barn that apparently has now burnt down. :(

I will have to dig in my (paltry) tack trunk and see what I can dredge up. Might even have to take some stuff off my tack for sale list for them. Bless their hearts.

I emailed asking for a list. Whomever wrote back, saying they're making up a list and will email it out. Hopefully I'll get one.
I'll be donating what ever they can use from my ad as well.
It would be nice if they could get a list together before the Dover Tent Sale :luck:
