I have just trashed the zipper on my field boots. I know the Journeyman does fabulous work, but I would like to use the boots again in this century ;) I can't wait that long...
Does anyone know a good boot repair person in NoVA? I want someone who has experience with riding boots. Thanks much!

Try Tricks of the Trade in Great Falls. I had them patch up my boots, and not only were they quick, they were surprisingly cheap.

Journeyman has a new boot/shoe repair person here from England, his name is Paul, and that has sped up the time it takes to fix things a lot! Slim used to do both saddles and boots so the backlog was huge. You may want to give them a call and see how long things like that are taking now.

Of note, tack repair is moving a lot faster now too since they have more than one person doing it. (My wonderful, talented, and crafty mom has been working for them for a year or so, say hi to Janet if your ever in there!)

I have noticed that turnaround time for everything has gotten better at Journeymen. I just ordered a custom collar for my dog, and a boot repair/stitching reinforcement - got the call that all was ready in 10 days!

That's great news about the Journeyman. I absolutely swear by their work, but was concerned about the wait time. Good to know they are on top of their game. Starlight, what a wonderful place for your Mom to work! Must be a horsey family.

yes, turnaround time has gone from months to a week or two since Momma Starlight started working (and don't forget who prodded her to go there and put in a good word ;) ) Starlight has the bestest horsey mommy.

Yes, Kevin is still there. He does the more advanced work, such as custom orders or very fine stuff like repairing sandwich cases, but general repairs like keepers, halters, reins, etc...are mostly done by my mom.
