It'll be an adventure! We're going on an adventure!

I inquired about doing a small porch, like the ones on old farm houses that have a small overhang above the door and a little bench on each side. I was told no by my contractor, the town will not allow me one more inch outside the original footprint. Anyway, there is no money for that now anyway, and I think the town may mellow out a little as years go by.

More pics?!?!? Please :)

And your house is really comin together! Look great!

I haven't been taking too many pictures lately, slacking I guess. I'll get back to work. Of course the beautiful New England foliage is not far away, so I should get some good ones then.
Thanks for checking in on my house progress. It's going well, I sure hope to be in by Christmas.

Thank you.  It's a little "boxy", but I had to work within the existing foundation, so I had no options.  I think it will look fine when all sided and landscaped though.

It looks like a "Hunting Box" - I think it's perfect. Once you get the landscaping, siding and um can you do a porch? Not even a full front porch just a landing area with a roof over it for the front door? Or can't you go past the foot print at all? It's not living space.

It will be even more lovely when it's all dressed up.

I'm curious. What is a "hunting box"?

Not one inch outside the original footprint, and that footprint is 500 square feet! Not much to work with, but I think we are doing okay. :) The house is just for me, and whatever dogs I have in my life in the future.
I am on a very tight budget, but it's coming together well. Downstairs is just an open living room/kitchen and a half bath. Upstairs is a big bedroom, tiny office/computer area and a big bathroom plus laundry.
It's looking great and I am very excited. I love my location on a very quiet dirt road. It's really a dream come true for me. :)

Little country cottage usually let out to fox hunters or that a family keeps for going out to for fox hunting - weekend retreat type of house. I guess that is British.

Sorry no horses, but this is the pond behind my house with water lilies and the sun going down, I thought it was nice.

For some reason, all my pictures are coming out too big lately. Now this one is too small, but you can click on it to enlarge it.
