Ya know, everyone posts pics of stallions and foals, but so often broodmares are hidden away or in the background. I plan to post nice shots of all the broodmares with the baby pics on my website. It seems to me that it would be a valuable tool for MO's when trying to select a stallion.

So please post some pics here to celebrate all those fabulous mares. I'll start.

Here is Young Man's Fancy showing that she is still all TB even if she is 10 months in foal:

and my wonderful Pop's Lucky Lady, 18 years young and still gorgeous:

here she is showing just what a hot and crazy, OTTB she is ;)

:one: :one: Mares are INDEED a Very Important Equasion in what is produced from a Breeding. I love to see what the Mares look like that have produced the good Babies! :rose: Too often "all the glory", is claimed by the Stallion.
Here is a photo of Tess, (Rio Grande X Murphy) just a few weeks before foaling.

This is a Warmblood and F2 Sporthorse Mare called Alexia.(Royal Alex X Goshen X Tammarack 2and) She is one of the lovely younger Ladies we have now put on the Sales List, only because in our Senior years, we have decided to cut down on numbers for our own Broodstock. ( Our Granddaughter has already put claim to the Colt from last year called "Bobcat". ;)

Lovely ladies :) I love seeing how graceful and quick they can be, even when heavy in foal.

Scarlett Mary (Scarlet N' Grey x Vincamary) stakes winning mare, half to another stakes winner, half to producer of a stakes winner. When you give her ANYTHING sweet she rolls her tongue back in her mouth and sucks on it... and gets this lovely zen look on her face, lol.

Posted Image
Winter Recital (Big Splash x Arbita) just a nice mare. I'm trying to find her a sporthorse producing home. She's lovely and 16.2h+

Posted Image
Scarlet River (Scarlet 'N Grey x Rush River) just a plain mare who has the NICEST babies.

Blushing Flagship (by Northern Flagship) gives someone the once over.

Shannon Ashley (by Kris S.) a broodmare owned by Iowa State University. She was my FAVORITE :)

Ok, I guess I'll brag about the one mare I do have pregnant this year - Delilah. She's Vosmaer x Saluut x Grandioso, imported and registered Dutch. I think she's had 12 foals now, and is pregnant with lucky 13. Her first three were by a TB, and then had one by Mannhattan that wasn't inspected. Her next 8 foals were ALL premium, including three (!) that scored 8.5 for Oldenburg NA. She's obviously a star award mare for Oldenburg. Her foals have gone on to win many HOY awards and become premium mares, and also fantastic producing broodmares. Her foal last year was sold and exported to New Zealand as a stallion prospect. Even at 22, she's a little hot and stubborn, is a bit standoffish, and still has an air about her that she knows how good she is. And she can still move....what a neat moving mare. My fingers are crossed that her Pablo pregnancy goes well.

She is for sale though. :( Focusing on the show horses. I'm halfway tempted to keep her and show her.

If I wanted another green project I'd keep her and show her, but I'm so tired of green. :psycho: Alas, if she's till around by weaning time (she hasnt even foaled yet!) back into training she will go.
