I was watching my Lizzy and her new filly cantering around the field, and thinking...wow.... I love the sweeping canter Viscount put on those two girls
,.....when I saw that Lizzy was being attacked by giant swarming flies  . I ran for the fly spray because everytime she stopped they went for the milk bar!!!!! , she then kicked like a boxer and took off to get away from them....the baby was very upset and confused...and in the line of Lizzy's kicking legs!!!!! I finally got her and sprayed her butt and back and shoulder....but the (deer)flies went from one side to the other at her udders. Sweet milk is the attraction I guess. things finally settled and I figure its better to spray than get the foal hurt. Is there anything else I can do???? I don't like using the chemicals around the week old baby. She still kisses her mommy all over. The flies don't go after the pony???!!!! Is it just my poor Lizzy??? Mary |
