She's looking better. So many rude things happen with these youngsters, I'm amazed she still comes to me and visit. I love Lizzy's dapples and hope her filly gets some of them. Lizzy is the love of my life. for being crippled she is the best mover I've ever owned and I know she'd be a great hunter stylist in the air.....but past all that she is the most honest and tolerant horse I've ever seen, without a mean or difficult bone in her body. She has a big fan club that seems to include everyone that's ever met her. I'm sure you all feel like this with one horse, maybe that's what keeps us coming back for more!!!! LOL!! All I wanted was healthy and a hunter prospect....... Livin' the dream!Mary |

I love her and I have a name suggestion: Grand Kid. get it? Canadian Kid x Grand Prospect. cause everyone loves their Grand Kid. you could call her kiddy for short. |

Avery, you out did yourself! I love that name! I am a grandmom too.....
and we all love our "kids"!!!! I even have the 4 yr old, 3 yr old and 2 yr old little people riding and taking lessons, hopefully, one will catch the bug. How great would that be. I also like Rays horse respectfully remembered. Do you think she's nice enough to live up to that?????? I quess it's like I tell people. Treat them like show horses and they will become show horses.....either safe solid citizens that get the job done, or (my fav) the brilliant ones that knock your socks off.I have a question for color and breed folks. I know she's a TB, I know her breeding, but Lizzy is a Viscount daughter and 12 yrs old(from the dark ages of no computers and paper trails or DNA typing).....AI.... no papers, no records. People only remember the horses, not the owners....so do I compete her baby as a non-thoroughbred, not recorded thoroughbred (do I need proof and how do I get it....what does DNA show????) Do I compete and smile in the non-tb classes.....yes, she's an American WB. <insert sly smile.> I know this goes to another thread about tb sport registry, but I think even Lizzy is beyond that. Ray remembers her mother and grand mother (tbs) but doesn't remember who owned/bred them or Jockey club names. This seems to be way over my head and learning. I know a good hunter, and I figure if you breed one good one to another good one complimenting positives, not duplicating things I'd like to see diferently......I think I can get good babies. I bought Liz pregnant. Liz is what I wanted. The foal, I thought would be cool......there are a few really nice hunters of Kid.....and Lizzy took away any doubt of producing unrespectable in the show ring. I am planning on putting the babe together and showing at least til the 1st yr greens. Breed stuff???? Puzzeling to me. Kate Redmond would like to see the babies in the breed ring, and it'll pass time......as says Silverbells....so why not? time and see where we are next yr. Are the buckskins rare? I thought Palomino, cremellos were rare. aaaannnndd oh so cool! Oh OK, I took up enough time, but It is my thread right??? Just me the little doesnt know it all trying to catch up to you really knowledgable folks. Mary......2 new filly's owner |

Only horsepeople have a keen interst in poop! She is sure pretty - and BIG!!! My AFR 3yr old is full TB/conseived AI and I show him in the TB classes. Shows like Devon, etc. have the classes listed as TB reg or not. I do have something from the stallion owner as proof of parentage, and he is lifetime recorded with USEF. |

My aching back will attest to her size. She is up to my boobs and i'm 5'7. Hugging her is almost impossible....my arms don't reach around her. Good thing she's still unsure on her feet. she got haltered today and she had no responce at all...sniffed it, got it slipped on and buckled. Lizzy didn't want it on her...kept trying to bite and pull it off.....needless to say, she only wear it with me standing there til Liz gets over it. I picked up all four feet...nothing. Compared to my pony foal, she's "Kiddy" a piece of cake. I told my friend that if the pony foal was the size of Kiddy, I'd be dead. My pony is opinionated about everything. I'm outa luck if they ask for proof. I have Canadian Kids proof, but the problem lies in my mare. AI'd to Viscount and no proof. Oh well. I'll see what they accept. I was told to keep this filly lean because of her size, so I don't know about showing on the line anyway. I can't wait to see everyones horses at Devon. I want to watch the breed, Jr's and greens. I might check out the ponies too......unless any one here wants a day groom. thanks for the kind words. Mary |

Very nice filly. I have always loved Canadian Kid. I do have a Palomino Canadian Kid daughter imported to Germany. She has great movement and is very kind and pretty. |

Well, she is just beautiful! Congratulations! I'd show her in the TB classes. It's what she is, so what she should show as. I know that UC Davis can do comparison DNA if you have enough samples or casse numbers from other offspring. We did it when I was at the PHR, so I'd contact them and ask them what they think. Granted, I may have gone above and beyond by helping the owners and doing the comparison stuff, but I would think they would try to uphold that standard.... Also, be prepared to do your own legwork... Find as many REGISTERED offspring of the pertinent stallion as possible. You need at least 10 horses to compare to... Don't know if you even want to go to the trouble, but at least you know you have an option! |

Kinsella thank you! I never knew I could go that route. I'd like to put her up against her own kind
and see how she does. I'd also love to compete with all my new friends. There must be something very special to look at a line of the best babies and know that I've talked with alot of the owners and was able to watch the little ones grow up and get into the show ring. What a thrill it'd be!!! Mary |

mpetrecz, I can assure you that Nite Spot will never come back. People are coming almost every weekend to see him and they all fall in love with him. He is just amazing. Very male looking and he knows when people look at him. Likes to pose. Since we have floated his teeth he has gained a lot of weight even with breeding duties. All kind of mare owners want him, Trakehners, Paints, Warmblood but also a few TB breeders are looking around the corner. They are not sure yet if they want the coloring though, bias in the TB world here. He has amazing movement and the Oldenburg Verband would love to accept him into their stallion book if only I could find what he has done in the competition section in his hunter competitions. They would accept his hunter competitions and offspring competition results to judge on a breeding license. Since you do not have a system like we do have here in Germany with the FN to capture all competition results, I am at a loss unfortunately. Sorry to have hijacked the thread with this post. |

I know he has a son here in Pa, and I e-mailed his owner a few months ago.. She isn't planning on breeding him outside her mares right now. she did send me a picture of his first TB filly born this yr and she is lovely with great color.....bay with spots. I am still hopeing she will breed outside at some point. I love hearing how well Nite Spot is doing. thanks and great luck with all your "kids"! Mary |
