WOW  I would NOT put a horse in a contraption such as that car thing. What happens when the horse freaks out, or falls?? The thoughts of what could happen are horrid. The rail system seems a bit afer, but again, if something happens, how close are people to attent to an issue??

NOT something I would consider- EVER.

There has to be a point at where modern technology is NOT the way to go- this is one of those cases in my opinion.

I only watched some of it, so I don't know the ending. Guess I should see the whole thing, but what I saw looks rather cruel to me, a machine forcing an animal to run like that. Gave me the chills actually.

Thanks HJ

Kind of a frivolous machine - bet it's uber expensive. Probably only practical for Sheiks, Saudi princes, and such. Operations where they have more than 20 foals hitting the ground each year, 30 or more in training.

The camels intrigue me......but I'm weird like that - NO NO NO I am ECCENTRIC! :psycho:

OMG. Those two things are...well I just don't have words. They monorail must cost a fortune. But I could see how an uber-rich racehorse owner would want it. It would drastically increase efficiency. Being about to exercise 6 horses at once?

I kept thinking how broke those horses were going to be after being in those things. If my horse ever needs to be laid-up, I'm sending him there when he gets to start work again and is a complete nut case.

Did anyone read the "saddle" portion?

Quote:

"On overhead hydrauli system in both the training vehicle and monorail system allows for ease in placing these saddles on the horse.  The Kurt Group is currently developing computerized jockey system for both camels and horses, which can accurately imitate controlled jockey hand and leg functions."

They're basically taking the guesswork...and the human touch....out of training race horses. So sad.

This guy and his group has WAY too much money...and WAY too much time on his hands.

When I saw the foal hooked up to it I had to turn it off. Bad idea.

While I think the whole thing is absolutely insane... I kept thinking... how could this possibly be helpful in training a racehorse? Wouldn't the horse get in a starting gate and just stand there when the gate opens? Or are they counting on the horse to follow the other galloping away horses in a race. The foal thing was so very wrong. When I saw the guys in suits I kept wondering if the horses were retrieved from some "Matrix" like pod system for each training session.

Oh, I don't know. I kind of like the little enclosed space pod car. I think I might use it as a new form of transportation around town... :innocent:

Istanbul, Turkey, eh? They've got a thing or two to learn about humane and appropriate equine training methods.
