Temp round pen for horse recovering from surgery

A horse at our barn is coming back from colic surgery and requires very limited (limited in time, but also in amount of space to move in) turnout for about two to three weeks. Would like to avoid the temporary electrical tape, though may ultimately have to go that route. She's hoping to find a temporary round pen to rent or lease from someone, but not sure where to start looking.
Any suggestions or ideas would by appreciated!

Thanks!

I'm not sure where you are located, but Southern States Cooperative (I'm in Virginia) provides panels, etc., for fairs. Maybe you could talk them into a short-term lease (maybe even free?) of some panels and a gate, could be good publicity for their magazine (I think it's called "Mane Events" or something like that) if you wrote an article for them and provided a few pictures.

If not that, then perhaps there's a cattle farmer near you who'd have some panels to lend?

If not either of those, then a small electric fence setup (with battery or solar charger) might work? We have a small battery-powered charger (runs on 6 D-cells) that my husband assures me would cover a couple of acres...we used it with step-in plastic T-posts to make a small pen. It works very well!

OTF, I'm in the Richmond area and that is a great idea.
Do you have any idea of a good number or person to start with?
Thanks again!

also another place to look is to ask around your 'network'.
Vet, Farrier, Local barns, Riding Clubs, Feed Stores.
Many feed stores and tack shops have a 'bulletin board where you can post ads. Post a Wanted Round Pen ad.

kelpie, sorry I forgot to check back here, but I think MissBri answered you better than I could have. I think the co-ops around here do have bulletin boards as well, and that might be a good start; however, it sounds like you need something sooner than that method might provide.

I think the small portable battery-type chargers are available from Valley Vet and places like that...plastic step-in t-posts and wire are at co-ops. I tie strips of surveyor's tape on the wire between the posts so they can easily see the wire; if they're not used to electric fence, it can take a zap or two to teach them...that's the hard part for me, but they learn quickly to stay away from the wire.

I hope you can find something for this horse.
