Makes me sad that I never rode there when I had the chance - I always thought I'd do it on another trip.

Where did all the horses go?

It is really sad isnt it. I asked the same question about the horses and was told that the owner of Clermont also owns Potomac Horse Center so most went there apparently.

Some of the horses went to the equestrian team at Yale too, and others were bought by private owners or retired.

Such a sad thing. I always wanted to go to NYC and take a ride there.

First Miller's and Kaufman's, then the National left NY. Now Claremont is gone.

So depressing. All the babies found new homes, right? Now, I certainly hope all their new owners don't founder them since they are now going to be on grass while they never were before! :(

It is so sad to see something that has been around, weathered all kinds of stuff, and after 115 yrs be sold. Just like MSG never to be in New York again. Very sad. We keep losing so much in the horse community.  :,(
