A special thank you to Jill Manno who I am thrilled is handling and backing and hopefully riding (soon!) Faux Finish for me during this year's campaign.

I never have to call (well - maybe once when her power went out and I wondered how they did!) - she calls me on the way home each and every show to let me know how the "Super Model" has done that day!

I never have to ask for pictures - she simply takes them and then fires them off to me the next day so that I can keep up to date with what is going on

I have a "room at the Inn" if I ever want to come down and watch any of the shows ... :)

I appreciate it SO very much - thanks Jill for doing such a terrific job with Chamois for me!

One month down, another 4-5 months to go ... ;)

Here is the picture she sent me today from Holly Hurst on the weekend, where she won her class under both judges and was Best Young Horse under both judges as well ...

Lord, but that is a gorgeous mare...

Think she'd want to be a sidesaddle horse one day? :teehee:

True Colours, she has really matured and developed beautifully. You have one lovely young filly there. I'm curious, how tall is she now? She's just spectacular, I think.

Thanks OTF - I am REALLY pleased with how she is developing as well!

I measured her at a smidgen under 16.1hh back in January/February so I am thinking she is at least 16.1hh now and hope that she gets to the 16.2-16.3hh mark when she finally finishes growing which I think would be a perfect size for her ... :)

Cool! I always stable with Janno at Devon - Jill is the best! Guess I will bump into you again this year Donna?

PS - that is about how tall Woody is - maybe a smidge taller because he was just over 16.1 in Jan, and he grew while I was in FL, but he isn't quite as "filled in"   .

I like Jill a lot, and I am so pleased with how things are going with FF with her!

I am *hoping* to get to Devon, Upperville and Warrenton but we sold our house and we are now farm shopping (yay!!!) so depending on when we close on the farm, what sort of work needs to be done on it before horses come home, how packing is going at this end, I may be able to make some, none or all of them so we'll see as the hunt progresses!

And yes - she *IS* filled out isnt she and honest to goodness, we dont do anything to get her looking that way (well - Jill is long lining her now) but she had that butt and topline and frame since Day 1!~

She is by my stallion Guaranteed Gold (16.1hh cremello TB stallion) out of my 16.1hh TB mare - Puchi Trap - who is a bay & white sabino TB mare who is also dual registered as a Paint with the APHA, so FF is also a Paint as well as a TB ...

GG tends to throw VERY large frames on his TB babies, so they all look more WB or WB cross than straight TB's (Jill said several people came up to her asking why a WB was in a TB class!!! )
He also tends to throw babies that are taller than he is, so we are finding a lot are hitting the 16.2-16.3hh mark as 4 year olds and no idea yet if any mature taller than that as those are his oldest youngsters

I am thrilled with how she is doing thus far - she is standing 5th in the USEF standings for 3 year olds after 2 competitions and that is against some horses that had a head start and were showing in the SW or SE early on in the year so so far, we are right on track with her show schedule and as long as she stays as happy and interested as she is so far, we'll continue on with the same program for her and see how she does ...

Thanks again everyone! :)
