When he ran, the fat rippled :):)

He was always a chubb monster, but he got quite a bit heftier at RE. Which was good for him, I never minded him being a lard butt. With my pony I worry because he's a QH air fern with teacup feet, but with Shane I was like "pack it on sucka." :P

Shane stands as #1 fattest TB I have ever seen. :one:

RE does have a bunch of chubbos. The Appendix mare I leased was borderline elephant-sized at times:

Incidentally, she is the reason that if Veronica doesn't buy an Appendix mare this weekend, I just might! :innocent:

Aurora got so fat that it was actually scary and not funny at all...

Shane was like "Hubba hubba big lady chunk" everytime he saw her.

I had forgotten that Aurora had the star with line and snip. I dunno why I thought she had a blaze!?! Brain fart. Therefore this weekend's bay appendix is NOT an Aurora, at least not exactly. I think this weekend's horse is AS TALL as Aurora was WIDE :)

:):):) I kid, I kid... I love Aurora! :cloud9:

I was referring to the TB, because he looked very buckskin to me. Highly unlikely though, considering his pedigree - what color is he registered as. Like I said, beautiful, either way! :)

MAXXTROT- Thanks, I'll check my mail!

DNC I could talk all day about Shane, my chubblet TB. He's most definately bay-- not buckskin. Registered bay. In the winter he was quite dark bay, but in the summer he gets very dappled (VERY dappled, more than I have ever seen before on a bay) and light. That picture is him at his absolute lightest, let me see if I have a good winter shot showing his darker coat...

All you can see is his neck, but you can see how dark he is there.

More neck, LOL

Stoney and Shane both say "what's that?"

I love bay, so many variations in color.

So far this plan is for me to visit appendix heaven this weekend to see 3 appendices...

I am waiting for a call back on an additional horse in NJ, Onyx. She was seen earlier this week by a serious buyer, so she may be sold before I can see her this weekend.

Next Thursday I am going back to revisit black horse with my trainer :)

If you hear mad jingling from the Exton area, that will be me!

Good luck this weekend.

Thanks. If I come home with something this weekend I will be jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazed because the appendices at least are inexpensive and billed as super movers. So... hopefully...

Tried 2 horses today... both appendix QH...

6 year old mare, super cute. Really only been under saddle for a few months, was a pet previously. Cute little mover but not amazing, 16.1 and FINE boned (she's 3/4 TB). I liked her but didn't love her... I felt like she was fun and would "do" but my socks weren't knocked off...

Then the seller was like "ok, the gelding is really common but don't judge him because of that"... out he comes, plain bay CHUNK of a gorgeous QH. I was like "uh, we don't call this common, we call this CLASSIC." Got on him and I looooovvvvved him. Loved him. The downside is that he's 3 and really only greenbroke but I LOVED him anyway. It'd be a whole year before I could do a whole lot with him, which is okay-- but not ideal. 16.1+, my wide saddle fit him, plain bay without a stitch of white. LOVED how he moved and loved his willing attitude.

Agent (this was a sales barn so I wasn't dealing directly with seller) had been given a price of $4,500 for both horses. I really felt that that was fair for the mare, given her age (she also had a cuter look with a blaze) but was kind of a lot for a run of the mill, no special breeding plain bay 3 year old QH. I offered $3,750-- which the owner rejected. Then I offered $4,000 which the sales agent said was resonable and the sellers would be nuts to refuse. Now I am just waiting to hear back from the agent....

Of course NOTHING is a done deal, even if the offer is accepted. Horse still has to vet. Given my prior bad experience I am continuing to shop and try other horses until I know for sure.

And I am waiting for Maxxtrot's video too :):)

Okay, pictures and video...

http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y192/vxf1...e%20Number%202/ <-- the mare

http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y192/vxf1...r%20Number%206/ <-- the gelding

P.S.- Gray mare was too young and also really downhill build. Also didn't like how she moved. So she's totally out for sure.

You were right down the road from me trying those horses. Marsha is a friend of mine and sold a TB mare for me 2 years ago. She's extrememly honest and a great person to work with.

Good luck.

I really like how you look on the gelding. He's VERY cute and the price is right. With the money you have left over in your budget if I were you I'd put further professional training including some shows to be sure he's the packer you want and need. It's a gamble since he's young...he's going to have some greenie issues and do some silly things from time to time so keep that in mind. But if you LOVE him that much then the two of you can grow together.

Good luck and keep us posted.
