Mika got shod last week because his feet were falling apart.

Mika hasn't been ridden for a week because *I* wasn't feeling well.

I go to ride Mika today and he trots up to me TOTALLY LAME. As in head-bobbing ouchy lame.

This horse had a tendon injury before I got him (which he has healed from) but I *panic*.

Panic, call the vet, wrap him, poultice him, am ready to soak his foot in epsom salts (just in case it's not a tendon thing and it is in fact a stone bruise or whatever).

Bring more stuff out to the barn and realize I haven't taken bell boots off. Take bell boots off. See itty bitty rub on the pastern that he is "lame" on. Shake my head...oh god...

Take him up to the arena and longe him sans bell boots.

Yea, he's sound.

*doh*

So, while I am very glad that it was a minor bell boot issue (oh, and did I mention he's a huge BABY???), he just about gave me heart attacks today.

Goofy horse.

Or maybe he is "faking" lame. :P Don't get me started on that one....I should know better than to go back to COTH because I'm sick of reading the smarmy posts by one certain expert horseman....how I ended up here in the first place! :shoot:

Glad your guy is ok! I know that panic feeling too well!
