Please tell me your favorite and hated manufacturers of:

winter blankets
rainsheets
wool coolers

Gunner needs new clothies and the ones that Grace has are from my 1st horse (those pictures of her in her winter blankie? That blankie is 30 yrs young.) and they don't make those any more.

Gunner is a boy - so far he's been pretty tough on the clothes we have for him.

Gracie's rain sheet is an Amigo and it ran large so Gunner may inherit that (its baby blue).

The winter one he has on now is a 76 it sez.

Linkies to your favorites (that are hopefully on sale) are a bonus!!!

Thank you!!

Gotta vote for the Rambo's! Pricey but worth it! I even use the QH line on my one Quarter Horse who won't fit into the normal Rambo's.

Another vote for Rambo's.
I have a friend who does blanket repairs, and she fixes significantly less Rambos each year than other brands. They just seem to last forever and hold up extrememly well...pricey, yes, but well worth it IMO, especialy if you have a destructive critter.

I've also had good luck with the Rider's blankets from Dover. I had several for my last mare and they held up beautifuly. Granted, she wasn't hard on her clothes so I don't know how they'd hold up with someone more destructive. Price wise I thought they were very reasonable and they seemed to be made very well.

I'm another Rambo fan. I got my horse's Rambo heavyweight turnout during the summer from VTO Saddlery during their semi-annual 20% off sale. My horse also has a lightweight turnout sheet from Weatherbeeta. However, that one has needed to be repaired twice in the past year. The Rambo seems bullet proof.

That said, my trainer/BO is a new convert to Schneider's VTEK climate control blankets ("Tekno-Dri" lining). One boarder's horse had one this season and my BO said she usually considers those climate control claims a bunch of crap, but that these really do work. They are on sale, too.

If you want to invest in things that will last, I'm also a fan of Integrity wool coolers/dress sheets.

Ooo thank you all. :rose:

The Rambo's do look nice - and yeah, I want to buy quality once instead of a bunch of blankets over and over again. :sigh:

Offf I go to shop till I drop.
