Don't you feel your vet was negligent in the way this was handled and especially for the time delay, etc, etc....????

No, because I agreed with him. There was NO swelling in the leg, just a lump above the fetlock. There was NO lameness whatsoever, at any time. Reese had just spent 3 months at the trainers, where he wore boots for turnout - back at his "winter barn" he was turned out bare-legged. We both really just believed that he went out one day with a case of the 3-year-old goofies, got careless and knocked himself.

Had there ever been any sign of discomfort or lameness, I would have been on my vet like white on rice, you can believe that, and he would have been right on top of it.

Hey JD!

Stall rest doesn't seem to phase him, but that BANDAGE, oooh! That bandage makes the baby SO MAD, lol! :point: :teehee:

Apparently, he chewed it off in the 4 hours between his bandage change at the clinic on Tuesday, and when Ms. Trainer arrived to pick him up for me (she's the bestest), so they had to redo it before he left. She sprayed it with Chew Stop :nyah: when they got back home, and it makes him SO cranky, it's hilarious! He'll go to tug on the wrap, get a mouthful of yuckyness, and then rear, toss his head, make faces, and stomp stomp stomp with his foot. I worry a little about the stomping, because I don't want him to pop those stitches, so I ordered some Hilton Herbs Rest Easy Gold - a friend used it (when it was called Rest & Recover) on a mare that was on rest and doing pirouettes in her stall, and it worked well. I just need him to be dopey enough to leave his leg ALONE!!! :psycho:

All in all, he's doing well. I just need to buy stock in Elastikon... :o :shoot:

It is kind of funny the way they react to bandages, huh? :innocent: Until they start the stomping part!!!! :psycho: Thank God for Chew Stop!!!

I'm glad to hear he's handling stall rest okay. :luck: to him NOT popping stitches!!!!! Keep us posted on how he's doing. :)
