Adrienne - a good friend of mine is a high volume horse dealer. He's happy to make a few hundred bucks on each horse because they come in and go out REALLY quickly - its a real revolving door policy around there! Anyone - he has a horse he is asking $3000.00 for and thie Oriental guy comes in and says "I offer you $1000.00" and the dealer said "Scram. Dont waste my time. Lose my number. Go away" And the Oriental guys says "No no no!!! I offer $1000.00, you now say $2500.00 and then I say $1200.00 and you say $2000.00 and I say $1500.00 and on and on we go. Thats how I buy horses. It like game. You say one price, I say another price, we laugh and joke about it and we keep going back and forth like this" And Paul said "Look you jerk. I dont play games like that. The price is $3000.00. Write me a cheque for that amount or get out of here!" And the Oriental guy says" Okay okay. I offer you $1500.00. What you say?" And Paul said "What I say??? Get the Hell off my property and dont come back!!!" He was killing himself laughing when he told me this story a few weeks later, but said at the time he was ready to wring this guy's neck. He never did end up selling him the horse either but did sell him a few days laterf for the $3000.00 he wanted!

I sure do wish I had a buyer to tell get lost to! I don't understand why I just can't sell a very nice coming 2yo WB/TB Contucci colt. Heck, I even had him listed for $5000 just to try and get him sold, but still no buyers. I'm really thinking it's just REALLY bad karma for me!

I think I am going to lose it. There's a nice horse in my area with an ad on dreamhorse.com. The ads says the owner MUST SELL ASAP due to her health problems. I saw the ad a month ago and called 5 times. 3 times I left a vmail message, 2x I left a message with a human person who answered. In the last message I asked if they would call me back- even if the horse sold. Just to let me know. Not ONE call back. Today, they renwed the ad and added a new picture. Where's the fruitbat?? |

I have to admit... I HATE horse shopping. The loonies I dealt with just made me want to do this... So glad I found my guy when I did. I had just about given up for the season (I was shopping late fall/early winter) and wait until Spring. And I had a pretty decent budget (low 5 digits). I actually found him by accident. He wasn't even advertised.
Karma. The ads for the horses I was looking at were misleading... and then when I would speak to the owners, they would mislead me too. So once I got there to see said horse.... ugh. Best of luck! |

I have 1 to sell....but 4 years old and green and super fancy. It seems as if people want the cheaper green horses....My horse is an inbetweenie. Just started the pre-greens last month. |

I do... how does a vacation and shopping trip in one sound to you? I'm so sorry that you're having a crappy time looking for a horse.
