I would love to take my 4 year old in one of the lower sections...but #1- he loves his trainer more than me...and #2- I think the lower sections are mostly filled.

Plus after today's debacle at PG I surely wouldn't want to embarass myself in front of Katie! Mr. Trainer rode Vocalando in the 3' pre greens without a single flaw. perfect changes, perfect distances, etc etc. I get on to do the 2'6" and my horse is hawking and bucking and flying sideways around the course. nice.

Anticipation,
Your horse is very adorable! I was at PGEC this morning and with the sudden cold weather and all the wind, he definitely deserves a ton of cookies for being so perfect!

did you watch him in the pre greens? He was incredible. Tom is one of my favorite hunter riders. He rode him like he was a 12 year old horse doing the 3' for the millionth time! He's 4 and it was his 3rd time in the 3'. Tom did an incredible job with him. I was more than pleased :)

Your new one??? That is tough, as RF in horses is difficult to treat due their size, nutritional needs, etc....

Lots of Jingles for you and your horse!! Keep us posted!!

thanks :( we'll see what happens.

We're not really sure what's going on right now. She's in GREAT spirits. Drinking lots of water, eating tons of hay, grazing, she's fantastic when I ride her. Goes to the bathroom normally.....bright eyed....normal antics.

She stopped eating her sweet feed last week out of her feed tub. She would only eat out of the feed scoop in the aisle on the cross ties (weird I know). Then she stopped eating the sweet all together and would only eat the senior feed. Now she's eating the senior feed normally. We thought she might have a mild case of Potomac Horse Fever without the fever (she has the vaccine)....we took some bloodwork and her kidneys were out of wack.

We took more blood yesterday and pending the results we will have to see about the clinic this weekend. I am crossing my fingers.

thanks for all of your support, ladies!

Was she on any meds or could she have possibly eaten a toxic plant, heavy metal, etc??

What were her electrolytes like? Did they rectal her? Could they palpate her left kidney? Was it enlarged, swollen, painful?? Did they get a urine sample? If so, what was her urine sp gr, pH, any casts seen, crystals (some crystals are normal in horses), any casts seen on sediment? Pyelo is rare in horses but has been reported, was she in heat recently??

Sorry for the 20 questions, I know she is in great hands, it is how my mind works! I have been in internal medicine too long. :)

More jingles for the both of you. And we would love to have you in our audit group, if you can bear to be away. :)

Once the bloodwork comes back I'm going to ask the same 20 questions you just asked me. lol. for sure! She had some crystals.....but like you said, vet said that was normal. Kidney wasn't swollen.

Heat- we are not sure. She is on regumate.

she goes outside alone in a small grass paddock with no trees or plants so I am 99.9% positive she couldn't have eaten anything bad. no metal (god I hope not). no poisonous plants.
