Oh good. I was worried. Unfortunately I know what that gas colic looks like. BUT this horse is supposed to be having a baby and I figured it looked similar at least the few I have seen on cams do (I've never seen a birth in person) So hurray for just gas. ??? I guess. |

I can only see an empty stall. Is she turned out? Or just hiding from the camera. I wish I could get something set up for my barn - I need to look into barn cams. |

I think we have another week as she hasn't started to wax. I am glad she is on candid camera though because last night could have been a mess. She gets turned out from after brekkie, until 4-5pm depending on the weather and now with daylight lasting longer, she will stay out later. |

I can see her now - looks like a very nice mare
She is really enjoying her hay tonight, so I guess she is feeling better. March 22nd is my birthday, btw, so she is probably going to wait until then

She needs to foal soon so Splash of Orange can have some camera time. At least I can make a vague excuse for my foal-cam addiction if I'm watching a mare in foal to Minister General!! :-) |

Roz may not fit on the camera!!!
She has a bigger stall, so it may just fit in there. Poor Roz, she is very large, low, and has edema which only makes her look bigger.I may put her on for a night just to show off her hugeness. I think it's another big (chestnut) boy with extra bling. I am hoping for a bay colt with two socks and a star from Flirt. Ahhhhhh, the dreams!!!! Healthy is a prime request here. |

She's chowing down on her hay again
I wanted to ask what kind of bedding you are using. I switched from shavings to pelleted bedding a few months ago and it says "excellent for foaling" on the bag. Last few times I used straw over shavings and it is incredibly messy so I'd like to just use the pellets this time. Is that what you are using? Hard to tell from the foal cam, but it doesn't look like straw. I HATE picking out straw - it gets so heavy and bulky

I use pelleted, but do put down a thin layer of straw right before. Straight pelleted, like shavings, gets stuck everywhere, but straw is slippery when wet and on rubber mats. |

No gas tonight - it is for real! Probably will go in the wee hours of the am, but her milk is streaming. |

It would appear that congratulations are in order! I check this religiously, even if I only have a moment or two, and I missed the big event! Hooray...boy or girl? Doing okay, I hope? |

Neato.....Congrats., and Thanks for sharing your Joyous Occasion! We have one grumpy mare here too that takes a little more coaxing, and assistance, to let Baby get the first meal. But as soon as the youngin gets in a couple of meals Mama usually relaxes and takes it all in stride.
Hey ya might get almost a nights sleep tonight!!!! But let us know if you have a Beautiful bouncing girl or boy there!
