Okay, to make a long story short, I used to be a pro and had a special kid and a special horse that now live 500 miles away from me and haven't had any luck with any trainers since.

The kid and the horse have deteriorated since I left town, and to make a long story short, the verdict is to send the horse to me to fix and sell. I agreed to do this for nothing as I care very much about the horse and the kid and I want to see her get something that her local trainers can deal with (long story).

So, I need a contract example. No money is to exchange hands, but I want to spell out who is responsible for what (i.e. show fees, boarding, vet and farrier etc.). Does anyone have a sample contract for this?

I look forward to getting the horse back - I've missed him. I'd buy him if I could afford two horses! It will be nice to work with him again though, to get him ready for sale to a good home.

Wow, that is a really nice thing for you to do. I certainly hope you will take your well deserved commission when the horse sells! As far as a sales contract, you can find this online and download it. In some instances you might have to pay a nominal fee or they might not perfectly fit your exact situation but I am sure you can alter it. Too bad you can't buy him yourself :(

I'm an amateur, but am selling a horse for a friend. Same sort of thing: She's just covering his expenses while I ride him and show his to potential buyers. I modified a lease agreement I found on the web. If you like, I'll send it to you--e-mail me at slobah at msn.com
