I have several OTTB's but will be getting back into breeding and racing now that the slots are in Pa. Here are a few of my kids Sly was an allowance winner till he broke down and I litterally bought him off the killer truck 20 years ago. This is a recent pic of him, he ages well. ![]() Nat's Wonder aka Sandy, she will be bred this spring. ![]() ValidGirl aka Val, she is an allowance winner and is the Queen of the barn at 19.

I have 5 OTTBs. My wonderful Poppy (Pop's Lucky Lady) who has had 2 fabulous foals and is expecting her third. She is still sound at 18. She has Citation in her pedigree which you don't see that often: http://www.nonesuchsporthorses.com/Poppy.html Then there is Fancy: http://www.nonesuchsporthorses.com/Fancy.html Fancy is just going back into work after 2 babies. I hope to do some dressage with her. She is sound with just a little "racing jewellery". Also Chocolate. EPM survivor and wonderful pasture pal: http://www.nonesuchsporthorses.com/Chocolate.html Lola is my riding horse: http://www.canterusa.org/ohio/success/Driv...desire_Lola.htm and finally Indy is my stallion and the most wonderful boy: http://www.nonesuchsporthorses.com/stallion.html Each of them have been wonderful in their own ways and made me into a life long TB devotee

They are the best aren't they?! I love all of your pictures. One of these days I will post mine - bit of a spaz with computer stuff
However, I am a big member of the ottb fan club after having one for the past 6 years. We bought him to be my daughter's children's hunter and she also did juniors and AAs with him over about 4 years. She took him down to WEF for two seasons and did a few of the East coast shows in the States as well as 3 full seasons up here in Ontario. Then, he developed a high bruise that took a longggg time to go away so we gave him 6 months off and now he's playing in the dressage ring with me. I had a blast with him last year. He makes me a better rider, because if I don't ask properly he lets me know instantly But when I do REALLY focus and stay quiet, he is amazing! Love him to death

Ha ha, it's a deal! She's yours
I can tell she would love you already! We have 2, one is my retired mare who spends quality time with her buddies at a close by farm. The other is the ottb that I stole from my daughter last year. She rides the sales horses at her coaches barn but desparately wants another of her own to love. Totally understandable to me, but with 2 kids in University/College right now, my husband thinks she should wait until she can foot her own bills. Big meany

Well, I can never resist a chance to post some pics of the Ave-man. He's 21 and thinks he's only 7 or 8. He was tried on the track but never raced... We assume b/c he has a congenital heart murmur that must have acted up under stress. You sure couldn't prove it by his 100% "win record" in the pasture races though! This is my favorite recent pic of him: ![]() ...And of course, he drives quite well too!

I currently own 7 TBs. The coming 4 y.o. is going back into work in about two weeks to get ready for her return to the track. I have a May/06 filly, and the other five are all off the track, all but one being homebreds. Three of these are broodmares, the other two are riding horses. |

Here is my OTTB a 10 year old gelding named Oli, he raced till he was about 6, won over $100,000![]() This isn't a OTTB but it is a Arabian who was off the track, does that make her a OTA? She is very fat in this pic though since it was taken closer to winter

I had 3 OTTBs but i don't have any pics of them on this computer or in my house(they are all at my moms). One was Dancing Benny (I named him "Bailey", Baileys Irish Cream) 1991 dk bay by Snow Cheif out of Dancing Jane. He never raced but was tattooed. He was my first horse and we did everything from beginners, pre-childrens, and pre-prelim jumpers. He could only jump 2'6' and me being a kid wanted to jump higher. So i got Ozzy. "Ozzy", I named Midtown but his race name was Thurson. He raced in NJ for about 3 years but never did very well. He was a really pretty horse. Black with a few socks and a star. He was awesome but developed some problems and we had to sell him. We never really found out what was truly wrong with him. He now lives with someone who has gotten him better and he can jump again. From what i hear he is doing great. Last there was "Sammie". His race name was Prince Silverrod. I found him while working at the track. My friend claimed him and he never ran well for us so the owner wanted to get rid of him. I made a deal with that another friend of mine and I would each pay half and keep him at her farm. He had a bad knee and we couldn't keep him sound so he now lives in NV and is just living life. I do like to claim some of my friends current runners as mine. After being around them for 3 years I have grown very fond of them. They can all be seen at his website T Shaw racing. I took all of the pics on his website too!

I have an 11 year old OTTB broodmare that just weaned her last foal. She was pretty badly neglected and was very, very thin before and after foaling, but has put on about 200 lbs and is finally acting like a horse again (not pregnant or nursing for the first time in at least 5 years!) This is Wealthia after a nice roll in stone dust, her new favorite thing: Wealthia We are starting some ground work and then I am looking for a trainer to actually see what she could do under saddle. (Also need to work on some grooming, although she's not such a fan of that!) Has anyone ever retrained an ex-broodmare? Or a horse/OTTB that has been out of work for a long time? I am in no hurry and my expectations are very low (meaning zero!), but I'd love any tips if possible! |

I have some racehorses.... in the interest of bandwidth I will post a link to our horses page: http://pennyroyalstables.com/our_horses.html Boom Boom is retired and will be bred to Tish's Just the Best. Bracey's Prospect went home to Beulah Park last week - she will be bred this year. Her babies will be awesome - she has SO much heart, grit and determination. Too bad she doesnt have a sound leg on her body. Countontherun has been sold to the Exceller Fund (yeay!!) and will hopefully have a life with one of their adoptees soon. Dance Commander is a big good looking girl I train for her owner, she is best at being pretty - she doesn't try very hard on the track. I have suggested she be retired. Fatouma is a very BIG horse in a teensy body. She is still learning how to control her tactical speed on the track and won her last race - 12-11. Here is her win pic: http://pennyroyalstables.com/fatouma.jpg Warning Will Robinson! It is a huge file. Gemma Kyle is a very sweet mare, built like a tank, with THE best walk I have ever seen. Doesnt do her any good on the racetrack tho! lol She is almost ready to race again after a vacation over the summer, during which daughter Lauren and I both rode Gemma, and she learned all about trail riding thru the mountains here. She will be bred to Otteridge Foxtrot in late spring. Maria's Reprized is a relatively new to us mare by Reprized. She is lovely, but acts very juvenile. Her personality is starting to come through and we think she will do well for us. I do not have a webpage up for her yet (winter coat, she is dusty!). Ok, I went and made her a webpage - at http://pennyroyalstables.com/maria.html And thats the crew! Thanks for looking.
