When you add a reply, use the IMG code thingy next to the http:// thingy.
That's how I do it. Hope it helps :)

The only uploads that can be done by members on the board is for their avatar.
For picutes in the body of the post it will need to be hosted at something like like webshots or photobucket. You can copy the IMG tag in it's entirety and paste it in your post from Photobucket. If the IMG tag is not available on your photo hosting site click the IMG button at the top of the posting window put the URL in the text box --> click OK Then close the tag. A closed tag looks like this [/IMG]

Hey Steph,
Send a PT to Renn/aissance or Seal Harbor. They are both admins and will be able to help you.

It may be as simple as the avatar you are trying to upload is not 100x100. If you have a graphics package, try using Tools or Resize to save under a new file name that is 100x100.

Web shots basically sucks. The links it gives you have too much crap in them for this board, or not enough crap. Anyway -

For webshots posting -

Find the link they provide with the .jpg extension in it - then I open notepad - copy the link there - peel out all the extraneous crap they build into the link and then copy that and paste it in the body of your post.

The links that work here look like this -

[IMG]http://slslslslslsl_howeverlong this part it.jpg[ /IMG]

You will notice in the webshots links this very thing embedded in them, that is the part you want.

Photobucket is much easier.

Hey Seal, I have been attempting to try to post a webshots photo. I do not see a url with .jpg extension. Do you know how to get the webshots photos to have this extension? Is there a special way to view your webshots or what?? I am so lame! :mallet:

Let's say this. I hate Webshots.

I have been fixing other people's pictures for them - I use the last one I believe it's the one for Website. It has too much crap in it but is the only one that has the .jpg extension. The others have some bizarre made up pointer number.

So I copy that - paste it in notepad edit it down to only have this part in it --->
[IMG]http://blahblahblah.jpg[ /IMG] Then I copy and paste that here.

Photobucket is much simpler. It has an IMG tag one and that is all you do copy that and paste it. Piece of cake.

Does this help? OR send me what you want in to post in email I will edit it for you and send it to you. Or post it for you.

Seal, so sorry to be a bother. I do not see any webshots with a .jpg extension. I could send a couple url's of pictures of me in my day. But they do not have jpg. extensions. Are you adding this .jpg extension or somehow using Webshots in a different manner than I am? :brickwall:

Nope i don't add the .jpg extension. Webshots is crap. The extension is buried in some long bloody link. It is the bottom one on the list of links to use for email, and blogs, and Websites. There are at least three listed there. They are all garbage as far as this site is concerned but one you can actually edit to make right.

Send me the link to the picture that you want to use and I will send you the corrected link so that the pictures shows up in your post.

I keep trying to link pics from my flickr, but I get this error:

THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUND
Sorry, dynamic pages in the [IMG] tags are not allowed

What does that mean??

It means there was more in the link than what the board likes. IMG links are most certainly allowed. Make sure the link ends with [ /IMG] that is the closing tag. Also make sure there is nothing in the link besides [ IMG] the URL ending in .jpg [/IMG]

It should work then.

PS - the board dislikes them enough to have given me the same error because I had the actual tag in the note and not correctly done. I had to edit the tag a bit to post the explanation.

Thanks! I double-checked and made sure the tags were closed, etc. I think the problem may be that flickr's image source URLs don't end in .jpg? For example, http://static.flickr.com/45/138792546_e79e...pg?v=1146540900.
