Thanks for the info. I tried to go to safegrass, but I guess it is moving, so I can't. I have a question about measuring rotation/sinking. (This may be a DUH! moment) I have lateral views of Sherman's foot. Do I make sure that they are actual size and then take a ruler and measure between the lowest part of the coffin bone and the sole? Does it matter if the sole has sunk so much that it is a good 1/2" below the hoof wall so the horse would be walking on it (if he was not shod) ? -- Of course I understand that the barefoot people would think that he still should be barefoot, I understand that ALL horses should be barefoot.... And how do I measure the degree of rotation? Do I ass-u-me the coffin bone sould be parallel to the front of the hoof wall or to the sole? Do I measure the deviation from one or the other of those reference points? Do I use a wazzitcalled -- a protractor? It looks like a "D" with the angles along the top. Thanks for any help anyone can give me. (Or should I go over to the other thread for medical stuff?) |
