Here PM's are truly private. None of the administrators or the moderators can read them. However - emails sent from the board are not private - the screen you create an email from on the board states that. The administrators can read them - but we don't - they are logged on the board admin software, a copy is kept and I regularly delete them. It's the way the board is set up and it's to keep people from harassing others via email although you are welcome to harass them via PMs.  I do not understand the complete logic behind why one way for one and a different way for the other but that is how this software is written.
