A friend of mine used to have one, and I tried the Elite as well. The new versions are deeper and wider than the old. They are pretty darn cushy- not so much as a Butet, but they are definitely more armchair-like than a Prix des Nations. They tend to fit a lot of different types of horse. The quality is pretty good for the price- the old ones held up pretty well, don't know about the new ones, but can't imagine that would have much changed.

The Elite is good for someone with an average-length leg from both hip to knee and knee to thigh. For a longer leg you might want to go to the Circuit Pro or Elite Equitation.

Dover is pretty good about letting you have trial periods- give somebody a call. ;)

I sat in one this weekend looking for a replacement for my 15 year old saddle after hearing nothing but good things about them.

I was impressed with the cushy but unimpressed with the skeery red color it was. I have no idea how it would break in.

There are at least five in the tack room right now (the modest priced ones..600 to 750ish with a new bridle!!!) ..all purchased based on the first one! For the money it is a great buy (I think)...they look comfy and break in well and seem to fit the horses well. So far there have been no complaints only kudos! :one: :cheer:

I had the Dover Grand Prix.. ( a model they don't make anymore) and loved it. I ride intercollegiate so I take lessons on many different school horses and it seemed to fit them all pretty well. Very soft and it put me in a good position too. Only reason I had to sell was because it didn't fit my own wide mare. :psycho:

I was in a Dover store last week. My friend was sitting in a bunch of saddles. She inquired about what the Dover brand was like just because she was wondering. The employee pulled one down and she sat in it. I think she's going to get one for one of her horses.

Then she made me sit in it.... (I had been sitting in the Hermes Essential so I could give a friend the report on that one).... and I was shocked! Actually felt quite nice! We sat there talking about the leather and workmanship..... quite impressed for the price!!!!!!

I got my Circuit Elite after riding in Jumphigh83's. I'm pleased with mine. I got it used on eBay from a member of TOB. I don't have a horse but have been hacking a friend's horse once a week. He's got a somewhat ...awkward back and yet it hasn't bothered him.

Another plus for the Circuits is that they seem to hold their value well for a modest priced saddle. You see them on eBay alot and barely broken in they are only about 20% less than original price. Aside from the Bevals, very few cheaper saddles hold value so well.
