"There is a difference between tact, and tactics my dear Vincent. Tactic is battle worthy only. Strategy only. Tact is a form of self pride. A way of telling someone to go to hell and make them look forward to the trip."

She took a of her wine before going on.

"As it is, I want you to accompany Besh and I on a little trip. To make up for the peolpe we lost."

She placed her glass on the table and picked up the bit of wood Angel had brough her. She was examing it, running her hand along the length of it in a very suggestive manner.

"I personally, would be very grateful, and you would be compensated very well."

This time Vincent couldn't help but have a slight gulp, taking a drink as he did so to cover it up. Putting the glass down, he wiped his mouth before speaking.

"What exactly will we be doing on this mission, going around recruiting vampires or something? And why bring me, what could I do that you couldn't?"

Even if he was promised to get a very nice reward, he still didn't trust her, and with very good reason. Standing up, Vincent began to lightly pace.

She smiled cooly.

"As if I'd need you to help me recruit vampires! Don't flatter yourself. No I simply feel that you owe that much to me, to accompany me since you dind't exactly follow orders the first time. As for what we're doing, we'll be travelling, very far, and despite unlimited magicks at my disposal, no one is perfect Vincent, extra help is always useful. Besides, you can go out in the day where as my darling Besh cannot."

"Eh, I guess you have a point, although I doubt I'll be that much help. Fine then, I'll accompany you and that vampire."

Vincent sighed. What did he do to get dragged into this, anyway? Oh, right, killing all those vampires. Well, it was still stupid he had to follow them around for no reason.

"When do we leave?"

"Once Besh has rested well enough. I'm hoping tongiht, but possibly tomorrow night. We'll see. Go, amuse youerself, eat, sleep, whatever it is you need or want to do. I have nothing more to say at the moment."

She cut herself off and looked at him wickedly, tantalizingly. She set the bit of wood she had down and recrossed her long legs the other way.

"Unless, that is, you have anything more to say to me?"

"Uhh, no, I think I'm all set. Just tell me when you're going to leave and I'll accompany you. Later."

Vincent then left the tent, looking back at Alexia, and her legs, one last time before he left, heading back to his tent.

Alexia laughed wickedly. She enjoyed her youth very much, and the things it did to men. She stood and cast a circle, she had things to do before Besh awoke, and would need all the time they could get. Her familliars sat on either side of the door, watching and alert for anything that shouldn't be there, their mistress in deep meditation within the tent they guarded.

The day passed...

Night fell...

And Besh snapped awake. He looked outside, temporarily disoriented. Then he remembered that Alexia had been behind his...kidnapping of sorts, and that she and that bounty hunter were probably waiting for him. Stretching, Besh allowed himself to wake up fully before leaving to find Alexia.

He found the next best thing. Her familiars sitting outside the tent. As he approached, he decided it would be better to wait for Alexia to come out than it would be for him to go in, supposing her familiars would deign to let him pass. He was strongly inclined to believe that would not be the case.

So, he decided to find a way to pass the time until Alexia resurfaced. He needed to hunt; it had been too long.

He ran silently into a forest, looking for something. His senses were on full alert, even for the tiniest animal. There. He veered off the course he had been following, toward the animal he had sensed.

When he found it, he couldn't help but smile. The animal he had sensed was a bear. That would be more than enough; Besh was one of those vampires that didn't believe in draining his victims completely, unless they should deserve it. That being said, he debated which spot would be the best to get a lot of blood in a short amount of time. He decided on the back of the bear's neck. Grimacing at the cliché he was fulfilling, Besh crouched down low, and waited for his moment.

There it was. He took the opportunity and jumped, landing lightly on the bear's back and latching onto its neck before it knew what was going on. He felt the tranqulizing drug being released from his fangs as the blood entered his mouth, slaking his thirst. The bear slowly went down, down, down, and landed on the ground. Besh had already finished. He disengaged his jaw from the bear, and cut a small slit on his fingertip with his fang. He let the blood drip onto the bite marks, which healed instantly. Not only did it erase any evidence of an assault, it also wiped the incident from the victim's memory. The bear wouldn't remember a thing.

His thirst having been sated, Besh headed back to where Alexia was. He got there to find her familiars still standing guard, and waited outside for her to finish whatever it was she was doing.

OOC: Yay for an RPG revival! ;P

Vincent had enough food to satisfy him before they left, and he did not need to rest so he had left his tent. He saw Besh standing outside of Alexia's tent for quite a while before he went inside finally, which Vincent assumed was the witch calling him in. He shrugged his shoulders and walked over to an empty table and sat on it, drinking a bottle of some cheap beer they had at this camp, which tasted like crap. It was about all they had for anyone to grab and drink for free, so it would have to suffice.

Now, he would wait and see if they were going to be departing soon, if not then he would go back into his tent, but with Besh going into her tent he figured they would not be staying here much longer.

Besh smirked as he walked into her tent. "I can't go inside people's establishments...Well, their private establishments, without being invited first. I'm not quite sure why that is. Mayhap it's from a deep-rooted sense of courtesy that Dracula had...I don't know."

He stopped talking as he took in her tent for a second. Not bad, he thought. "Anyway, as it's now night, as I'm sure you're aware, and I've awakened and fed, of which I'm sure you're also aware, I'm ready to go. If there's any last-minute things you need to do before we go...wherever we're going, I can wait."

She was sipping from a glass of wine. She'd felt Besh wake up and had changed her clothes earlier. She was now wearing baggy, blue, white, and black camo patterend, cargo pants, and a matching mini tank that went down half way to her wait, ending just about where her ribs end. On her feet were black and white skull patterend Vans.

"Yes, I'm ready. There will be battling you obviously understand. And there will be a spot where all my power is for naught. We'll have to travel about three days through a few realms where no magick, light or dark, exhists. I'll be human, retaining only my immortality...and as such, obviously my looks, becasue thats now apart of me and no longer magick, but yeah, lets go."

She rose, and a sword appeared at her hip, accomanied by a dagger on each hip.

"And don't ask about me just taking us around them, we can't. I can't zap us through, over, or around. I've tried. We'll have to go on foot. But. I can take us as far as the beginning of them."

Besh nodded. "I'm looking forward to it, actually. Vincent's stunt has thrown my battle instincts off, and I'm looking for ways to bring them back into balance. You of all people should know how important it is to keep oneself centered during battle."

As he listened to what would be their method of transportation, he frowned. "That does pose a problem, doesn't it. Places where no magick exists...I'll be reduced to a human with a few vampiric qualities, like slightly sharper canines. I get my powers as a vampire from dark magick...I just hope we don't come across anything on our way through." He knew they probably would, though; his luck, at least, was horrible that way.

As she stood, Besh took in her outfit, unconsciously comparing it to his own. Unlike most other vampires, Besh preferred to wear things with lots of buckles on them, to make noise. Vampires could be completely soundless at will; Besh liked to remind himself from time to time that he still existed. So he wore a black t-shirt under a light black leather jacket with silver chains looping out of five pockets down each side of the front zipper; these pockets were fastened with buckles. His jeans were the same way; except they were all chains. No buckles. On his feet were a pair of carpenter boots. These were the only articles of clothing that had no buckles or chains.

"Whenever you're ready, so am I," he said by way of reply. "So, I'm assuming we're waiting for Vincent to make himself known so we can finally proceed?" he asked, before a thought occured to him. He didn't carry any weapons with him. He'd never needed to; if his nails, teeth, and body weren't enough, then nothing else would be. But that magick-devoid realm...

"Alexia," he said suddenly. "I'll need a weapon of some sort, for when we pass through the realms with no magick of which you spoke. Anything. A blade, a staff, thrown weapons, a bow, anything." Even without his vampiric abilities, Besh possessed deadly accuracy. And a lack of magick couldn't take away his night vision.

Alexia chuckeld.

"Oh you are off arn't you? You are a vampire. Unless you cast spells like I do, you'll remain untouched. Vampires arn't magick. Their abilities come form within them. Mine come from a different source. No, you'll stay just as you are, there are no worries there. But if you want a weapon...."

Her voice trailed off and she looked over at the table. There an ebony fighting staff appeared.

"Pick it up. Its not magick, its alive on it's own. Sort of. A telepathic connection with whoever holds it allows the weilder to eject a sharp and shiney weapon from the ends. A spear or blade, or well....really whatever you want. The silver and iron inside is made up of molecules that are alive, they think on a collective scale. So if you want two saw like blades to pop out at each end you jsut think of it. That thought goes intot he staff and relays what you want tot he metal and shing thats what you get."

Besh paused as Alexia contested what he had said. "Well then. The most influential vampires in the world really are quite full of themselves, aren't they?" he asked with a rare smile. He really shouldn't have expected any less; vampires were known to embellish things and make themselves seem more important than they really were; particularly the older ones. "The elder leader vampires had ingrained it into our heads that Dracula was a practitioner of dark magick, and had transferred that ability into the first person he turned, and the ability had been passed down ever since. I suppose I should have seen right through that...According to books, the first person Dracula bit died."

Besh then looked to the ebony staff and picked it up, impressed. It was about as long as his legs, which were about one and a half times as long as his torso, which was a good two feet in length. He could barely circle one hand around it. "This is something else," he said dazedly, as the weapon seemed to almost hum. He thought about it, and a blade popped out of one end and a spearpoint out of the other, almost as though they had always been there.

"I think I might just have to keep this," Besh said, amusement plain in his voice. "If that isn't a problem, that is," he amended, looking to Alexia. "Shall we go, then?" he asked her, holding the entrance open for her to exit first.
