Posts: 803 Group: Forest Leader Member #6 Joined: December 22, 2006	A friend of mine (Anna) got a limo for prom, and she, Rose, her boyfriend Issac, Jayda, Megan, Sarah, Rachel, and myself all rode there together (minus Sarah and Rachel they just got the ride home). She had payed the whole cost and the tip in advance, which was hundreds of dollars total, and we were supposed to have the limo until 2AM. Well we went to prom, it was cool, we were there for a while, gambling :D-- then Anna's dad calls her saying that we're getting a new limo and a new driver because the campus cops hanging around outside prom saw our former driver drinking a beer while he was waiting for us, and they made him call the company to send a new driver. The officer even told Anna's family "There's no way they can charge you for tonight after that." So the new driver gets there waaay later than the former one was supposed to pick us up, and we go to get some food at IHOP where we had the BEST WAITER EVER, anywho it's already after 1AM. So we hurry up and get going, and the driver reminds us that we only have the limo until 2AM or we'll get charged for time after that. Anna says yeah, that should be fine since we would probably get some reimbursement for them having to switch our former driver. Well, the driver starts to take us back to Anna's house, but he calls his boss and tells the owner of the company that we're refusing to pay (he was just confused at the way Anna had said it). Now, for starters, we'd already payed, and we'd already even given them the tip. But the owner demands to talk to one of us, and we hand the phone to Rose, because I tend to get to "lawyer-y" on people. The owner tells Rose that the situation has been handled, since the first driver "felt ill" and he was replaced, there was no reason for us to be upset. Rose told him that our understanding was that the police told us they caught him drinking, and they were the ones who got a new driver. He said no, no, the man was ill, and that he's not driving us now so it's okay. I told him that if the police hadn't caught him, he would have been driving us right that second. Then the owner got maaad... He said he'd have the driver pull over and leave us on the side of the road if we caused trouble. He started going off at Rose and yelling at her over the phone, and Rose-- being polite because she could see a police report in the future here --says that apparently we've heard different stories and that we'd have Anna's dad (the one who originally ordered the limo) talk to him so we could figure out what actually happened, since this isn't her decision. He says "You're right, it's MY decision, and I'm TELLING you what happened." Then starts demanding that Rose give the driver back his phone, since it isn't even her phone and he doesn't want to talk to her anymore. Rose asks why he needs to speak with the driver, and he tells her "I need to tell him where to take you." And we're sitting here thinking, holy shit, is this guy really THREATENING us after THE POLICE THEMSELVES CAUGHT HIS DRIVER DRINKING? So Rose told him flat out that we had the driver until 2AM and the driver was going to take us home, and that was that. He kept saying that he wasn't going to talk to Rose anymore, and give the driver back his phone, and Rose kept saying that the driver was taking us home so he didn't need to speak with him. Finally he says "Fine, just let me tell him how to get there." to which Rose says "Doesn't he already know?" and he snaps "DON'T YOU GET SARCASTIC WITH ME." So then the driver asks for the phone back, and Rose gives it back to him, and the owner tells him to pull over and not take us anywhere until Anna's dad calls him. The driver does this for a minute, and we tell him that if he tries to leave us then we're going to call the police and have THEM take us home. So he ended up just ignoring his boss when the guy called back and took us home anyway. He was really a great guy. I was sitting in the front of the limo, right behind him so I was talking to him after he took off again. Giving him directions and stuff and every five seconds he started going on about how he hated this job anyways and how he would just get another job because he missed the fight for this. He then told me that DeLa Hoya had lost, and I was all like "Whaaaaat Mayweather won?" Confusing everyone else in the limo because they had no idea what we were talking about. But anyways he was really awesome. We apologized that he had to get called out, since it wasn't his fault that the trouble started in the first place, he was just pulled into this for no reason and I felt really bad for him. Anyways they gave us back the tip but I don't think they gave us anything else back which is ridiculous. Because they should have pressed charges, we would have won, but I don't think they wanted to go through the trouble. So yeah that was our prom night, minus the awesome IHOP waiter who deserves his own topic. XD
