(completely copied this over from the old MT but I thought it was a good post) Elizabeth Swann had had a disturbed night's dream and the same dream that always came to here was replayed in her mind. It was on the crossing over from England to Port Royal. A boy had been spotted overboard. He was pulled up onto the ship. He was Will Turner and she had found a pirate medallion around his neck. She had quickly hid it from Norrington, scared that he would be hung as he was a pirate. The same ship was in the distance, a black ship with black sails. She had hidden the medallion from Will for so many years. It was in a drawer with a false bottom. Elizabeth woke up suddenly and climbed out of her bed. She went to that drawer, lifted up the bottom and picked up the medallion. She quickly fastened it around her neck. There was a knock at the door. It was her father, the Governor of Port Royal. She grabbed her dressing gown and put it on over her nightdress. ''You can come in.'' she said. The door opened and in came her father with a maid carrying a box. It looked like her father had a present for her. ''Here you are dear. A present for you.'' Governor Swann said indicating for the maid to open the box. Inside was a corset that was supposedly all the rage in London. Elizabeth and the maid moved behind a screen where the maid helped her into it and laced it. ''The women in London must have learned not to breathe.'' Elizabeth breathed as it was tightened. It was at this moment that another maid came in to say that Will Turner had arrived with Commodore Norrington's sword. Her father left the room, leaving Elizabeth to finish getting dressed. |

Curious, Will reached up to one of the sconces hanging on the wall, touching it. His craftsman's mind worked over what it might be made of, when it suddnely snapped in his grip. Looking around, he tried to find somewhere to hide it, as well as hoping no one saw him. He quickly tossed it in a trash bin, before turning around. A butler passed, and he nodded a greeting to him, before snapping around when he heard his name. "Ah, Mister Turner! Good to see you!" the Governor said, coming down the stairs. Smiling and bowing slightly, Will said, "Good day, sir. I have your order." "Order?" Seeing the package Will was holding, the Governor said, "Oh, right! That." He took the sword from the young man and unsheathed it, examining it in great detail. "This is a very fine blade," he said, pleased with the smithing. "May I?" Will asked, holding his hand out to receive the sword from the Governor. He laid it across one index finger, gazing at it with pride. "Perfectly balanced." He flipped it in the air, catching it by the blade, and holding it out to the Governor hilt-first with a bow. "Oh, quite nice! Commodore Norrington will be quite pleased." Hearing the door shut, the Governor turned around and said, "Oh, Elizabeth!" Seeing the beauty, a smile spread across Will's face, before he looked at his feet. |

It hadn't taken Elizabeth very long to finish getting dressed. Once she had done her hair and attached her hat to hair, she made her way out into the corridor and down the main stairs. This was when she saw Will Turner. He always made her smile no matter what, but today she could feel the medallion hidden around her neck. It still did not mean she did not smile, she did as always. ''Good morning, I had a dream about you. About when we first met. Do you remember?'' she said as she made her way down the stairs carefully. |

"A dream? About me? How could I ever forget that day, Miss Swann." It was true. He didn't think he would ever forget the day he first boarded the ship where he met Elizabeth Swann. Possibly because that was as far back as he could remember, but even still, that day changed his life in a profound way. |

''How many times do I have to ask you to call me Elizabeth?'' she said. It was the one thing that she wished Will would do. They had known each other for years but Will was still too polite and would not call her Elizabeth, just Miss Swann as always. |

"At least once more, as always," he said with a smile. Chucking, the Governor said, "At least the boy has a sense of propriety. Come along now, Elizabeth. The ceremony will be starting soon. Will followed them all out of the house, waving as the carriage went past. "Goodbye, Elizabeth," he whispered to himself, before heading back to the smithy. |

Elizabeth walked down the rest of the stairs and came to the bottom. She followed her father out and just before she got into the carriage she turned around and said: ''Good day, Mr. Turner.'' |

Captain Jack Sparrow stood on the mast as he looked out ahead and saw land. He smirked as he came closer to the port. He looked down and saw in his little boat that there was a leak. He slid down a rope and landed in the water. He began to get the water out of the boat when he noticed a sign. 'Pirates ye be warned' with corpses hung under it. Jack stood up and put his hat across his heart in respect from his pirate brethern. By the time he reached the port his boat and sunken considerably forcing him to stand on the mast. He easily stepped onto the port from it and as he began to walk away a harbormaster spoke to him. " What - hey. Hold up, there, you. It's a shilling to tie up your boat at the dock." Jack and the harbormaster looked at the sunken boat. "And I shall need to know your name." Jack grabbed some money from his pockets and put it on the man's notebook. "What d'ye say to three shillings... and we forget the name?" "Welcome to Port Royal, Mr. Smith." The harbormaster said continuing on down the dock. Jack walked off a few steps and then spotted the man's money pouch. He picked it up shook it and then pocketed it. He walked off happily in search of a ship. Soon he spotted it and began to walk off to it very happily. When he was spotted by two officers named Murtogg and Mullroy. "This dock is off limits to civilians." Murtogg said running in front of Jack. "I'm terribly sorry. I didn't know. If I see one, I shall inform you immediately." Jack then tried to walk off but the two officers stopped him again. "Apparently there's some sort of high toned and fancy to do up at the fort, eh? How could it be that two upstanding gentlemen such as yourselves did not merit an invitation?" "Someone has to make sure this dock stays off limits to civilians." "It's a fine goal to be sure but it seems to me that a..." moves slightly out of their way as they move in front of him again. "a ship like that makes this one here a bit superfluous, really." "Oh, the Dauntless is the power in these waters, true enough, but there's no ship as can match the Interceptor for speed." "I've heard of one, supposed to be very fast - nigh un-catchable...the Black Pearl." Jack said eyeing the two men. "Well...there's no real ship as can match the Interceptor." The other said nearly laughing. "The Black Pearl is a real ship." Murtogg said sounding almost offended. "No, no it's not." Mullroy said. "Yes, it is, I've seen it." claimed Murtogg. "You've seen it?" Mullroy said the doubt in his voice showing. "Yes." "You haven't seen it." Sneered Mullroy "Yes, I have." Demanded Murtogg 'You've seen a ship with black sails, that's crewed by the damned and captained by a man so evil that Hell itself spat him back out?" Challenged Mullroy "No." "No." Mullroy smiled victorously. "But I have seen a ship with black sails." Murtogg said as Jack wandered away onto the ship. "Oh, and no ship that's not crewed by the damned and captained by a man so evil that Hell itself spat him back out could possibly have black sails therefore couldn't possibly be any other ship than the Black Pearl. Is that what you're saying?" Challenged Mullroy again. Murtogg nodded with a smile. "No." "Like I said, there's no real ship as can match the Interceptor..." As he turned to face Jack feeling like he had won, but then he noticed that Jack was no longer there and turned to see he was playing with the wheel. "Hey! You! Get away from there." Murtogg said pointing his rifle at Jack. "You don't have permission to be aboard there, mate." Mullroy said doing the same as his partner. "I'm sorry, it's just - it's such a pretty boat. Ship." Jack corrected himself. "What's your name?" "Smith. Or Smithy, if you like." Jack said. "What's your purpose in Port Royal, Mr. Smith?" He said pointing the gun at Jack and smiling confidently. "Yeah. and no lies." Said his other half. "Well, then, I confess, it is my intention to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder and otherwise pilfer my weasely black guts out!" Jack said with a wicked grin. "I said no lies!" "I think he's telling the truth." Whispered Mullroy. "If he were telling the truth, he wouldn't have told us." "Unless, of course, he knew you wouldn't believe the truth even if he told it to you." Jack offered with a smirk. |

The ceremony had been quite boring for Elizabeth and she had found that she was struggling to breathe in her corset. She thought that things could not get any worse until she saw the newly appointed Commodore Norrington heading her way. They both walked over to the battlements, and Elizabeth leant against a wall, trying to get her breath. "May I have a moment? Uh, you look lovely, Elizabeth. I, uh, apologize if I seem forward, but I... must speak my mind. This promotion throws into sharp relief that which I have not yet achieved. Uh... a marriage to a fine woman. You have become a fine woman, Elizabeth.'' Norrington said. ''I can't breathe,'' Elizabeth gasped. Norrington turned away from her and said, "Yes, I... I'm a bit nervous myself.'' Elizabeth felt suddenly light headed and could no longer breathe. She passed out and in the process fell off the battlement and into the sea below. |

"..and then they made me their chief." Jack said to the two officers as he was sitting down rather confortable on the ship. When a loud splash was heard. The three went over to see what it was and saw that it was in fact a person. "Will you be saving her then?" Jack asked looking at Mullroy. "I can't swim." He replied. Jack glanced at Murtogg who stared back at him and shook his head. "Pride of the King's Navy you are." He handed the guards his effects. "Do not lose these." He commanded before diving in to save the girl. A wave rushed trough the waters. "What was that?" Murtogg asked interuppted by the fact that Jack was already back and with the girl in tow. "Ooh, I got her. She's not breathing!" He said as he moved her hair out of her face. "Move!" Demanded Jack as he shoved him aside, and cut open the corset as Elizabeth coughs up water and then gasps for air. "Never would've thought of that." Mullroy said frankly. "Clearly you've never been to Singapore." Commented Jack as he saw the medallion hanging off Elizabeth's neck. "Where did you get that?" |

Once Elizabeth had fallen off the fort, Norrington had hurried down to the dockside to find Jack standing over a half dressed Elizabeth. He pulled his sword out and pointed it at Jack. ''On your feet.'' Norritngton ordered. Following Norrington had been Governor Swann, Elizabeth's father. He ran over to her and helped her up. ''Elizabeth. Are you alright?'' he said. ''Yes, I'm fine.'' she replied, as her father put his coat around her. ''Shoot him!'' the Governor Swann said when he saw that Jack had removed Elizabeth's corset ''Father! Commodore, do you really intend to kill my rescuer?'' Elizabeth protested. ''I believe thanks are in order.'' Norrington said supiciously. He grabbed Jack's arm and pushed his sleeve up. ''Had a brush with the East India Trading company, did we, pirate?'' ''Hang him.'' Governor Swann said. ''Keep your guns on him, men. Gillette, fetch some irons. Well, well... Jack Sparrow, isn't it?'' Norrington ordered. |

"Captain Jack Sparrow, if you please, sir." Jack corrected as he took his arm back. "Well, I don't see your ship...Captain." "I'm in the market as it were." Jack smiled. "He said he'd come to commandeer one." Murtogg stated. "Told ya he was telling the truth. These are his, sir." Mullroy said as he handed over Jack's effects to Norrington. "No additional shots nor powder. A compass that doesn't point north." Norrington said switching from the compass to the sword, he unsheathed it. "And I half expected it to be made of wood. You are without doubt the worst pirate I've ever heard of." Norrington declared. "But you have heard of me." Jack smirked as he was pulled away in chains. |

''Commodore, I really must protest.'' Elizabeth said as she pulled away from her father. ''Carefully, Lieutenant.'' Norrington said ignoring her. ''Pirate or not this man saved my life.'' Elizabeth said crossing in front of the commodore. ''One good deed is not enough to redeem a man of a lifetime of wickedness. '' Norrington said shortly. It was turning out to be a good day for him, the ceremony and catching a pirate. |

Jack said as he threw his irons around Elizabeth's neck and pulled her close to him. "No, don't shoot!" Governor Swann said as the men prepared to fire. "I knew you'd warm up to me." Jack smiled. "Commodore Norrington, my effects, please, and my hat." Jack added quickly and then waited. "Commodore!" Commodore Norrington motioned for his effects to be handed over. "Elizabeth. It is Elizabeth isn't it?" |
