((OOC: This is kinda mid-story so YAY!!! for confusion.)) Thayet eyed the trunk suspiciously as Will went up to it grabbed a staff and then slid down to the floor and then as Besh went up to it grabbed a sword and floated down to the floor. She looked up at Mew and the strong temptation to make some sarcastic remark left her as she resolved to see what the trunk held for her and hoped it was some better answer to her question. As she peered into the trunk she saw that only a bow and a quiver full of arrows remained. They were the same ones from her memory before, so mayhap that was why they were so familiar to her. She reached out to them naturally and as her hand touched the bows and the quiver she immediately felt her body start to tire but instead of going to lay down like she should have she began to examine her bow and arrows. But soon her body and the spell Mew was putting on her caused her to fall to the floor as the memories of her past life flooded her mind again. She was running quickly through the forest, she was laughing, she was happy as she made her way soundlessly through the forest. She heard cracks and rustles behind her. Someone was following her. An old friend. Someone her age. She turned quickly and hid behind a tree. She giggled to herself as she heard the steps never slow down and run right past her. As she crouched down to rest a little bit she noticed that her friend still hadn't stopped running. The giggles left her and she sighed as she began to wait for him to return. Like a skip in time the boy came back through the forest calling her name and the smile returned to her face along with the giggles as she waited for the boy to notice her. But he rather obliviously walked past her. And with a heavy frown she got up and followed the boy. He didn't seem to notice she was behind him until she tapped him on the shoulder and he spun around looking incredibly frightened, but she didn't notice that. "You're no fun." She pouted. "You walked right by me both times." "Well you really shouldn't hide from people it's not nice." The boy replied sounding incredibly irritated. "You should just get better at finding me." She teased him by sticking out her tongue. To which the boy laughed and pulled Thayet in front of him. "Let's have you walk in front of me so I don't lose you again and so we go home so father won't be mad with us." The boy smiled as Thayet nodded her agreeance and walked in front of her older brother. When she made it home her father, who usually scowled at them for being gone so long, had a big smile on his face. "I was going to wait, but I have a present for you Thayet." He said as his smile seemed to grow. "Follow me." He said waving her to follow her to the back room that was his workplace, where she or her brother were never supposed to go but he openly invited Thayet who happily followed him. As she entered the workplace she had never been in for she took notes of how wonderful it seemed but it was nothing like the thing her father was holding out to her now. A beautifully crafted quiver and at least a dozen arrows inside that looked to be perfect. Thayet smiled brightly, her old bow wouldn't do these much justice but they were so beautiful that it didn't matter. She reached out to the smiling only to have them put aside on the table by her father and something else reached her hands. A bow. A perfectly crafted and beautifully designed bow. "It took a long time for me to get that for you, but I finally did, I did a little extra work to get the whole set but my friend was very nice about everything. He knew how much you would love it. It was supposed to be for your birthday but I had to give it to you now. I just couldn't wait to see your reaction. How do you like it?" "Father, I love it. Thank you so much." Thayet said as she flung her arms around her father. "It's absolutely perfect. Thank you so much. I'll take it everywhere with me, and I'll take the best care of it, and I'll make sure to win any competition I ever enter with this bow." Her father's smile, although she could not see, was bigger than it had been in years, to see his daughter so happy was so wonderful. |
