Darkness of the Heart By SangueEterno We are men, we are women. We are seeds in the ocean of day-to-day life. We have thoughts, we have hopes, we have dreams. We have desires, we have regrets, we have secrets. Oh, truly, do we all have secrets. Some secrets we tell, some secrets we don't tell. Some secrets we easily part with, some secrets we carry to the grave. All of these secrets lie deep in our minds, all of these secrets lie in our hearts. All secrets hide, whether alone or with other secrets, all within darkness, the Darkness of the Heart. We are humans, humans are intrigued by the unknown. Some of us are afraid and hide from the unknown, some of us dive head first into the unknown. Some of us hide within our simplicity of our current affairs, some of us deem life too mundane and seek the unknown. Some of us are simple, some of us are complex. Some of us say religion, some of us say science. Some of us say both, and some of us say neither. No matter what one chooses, it's truly irrelevant. We just don't know what's past the veil of the unknown. The universe is one big sea of unknown, and our scope of knowledge is but a plankton in the deep. We are men, we are women. We are humans, seeds in the ocean of day-to-day life. Our thoughts, hopes, dreams, desires, regrets, and our secrets are part of us. We are in our scope of existence, our light in endless darkness. But truly, with all of our secrets, how much in the light are we? Like a black hole eats the light from nearby star systems, we are curious little creatures that seek to hide our secrets, and yet we want to learn of the secrets of others. We have hearts, we have minds... we have SECRETS that lurk deep in the dark. Our darkness, hidden in shadow by our outward light. The light we present, the light others see... the us we let them see. But deep down, darkness holds our many secrets. We can be truthful to ourselves, we can lie to ourselves. Every day we do both. We smile, we laugh, we scream and we cry. We are a bundle of emotions. We are a bundle of thoughts, dreams, hopes and desires. We are a bundle of secrets. Light blends together in harmony to paint the picture of the world which we perceive. We see nothing in darkness, and that may strike fear in us. Seeing nothing in darkness may give us comfort instead. The battle between light and darkness rages on, and yet... is there a fight between them, or are they simply our state of being? So many things we know, so many things we do not know. All we know is simply that: what we know. The unknown remains unknown until we discover what is within the unknown. Is this redundant? SOCIETY IS A SERIES OF REDUNDANT ROUTINES. We are humans, and we like routines. Routines make us feel comfortable, routines are predictable. But we all seek excitement, we all seek new horizons. We try to shine light into the dark, but it will be dark no more, and secrets will be no more... That is an illusion, just as we attempt to comprehend thought, or imagine colors that do not exist in our scope of vision. We try to come up with examples, thinking of colors that do not share relation to the current colors we see. We cannot. This is in darkness, they are secret to us. And yet secrets are only natural, secrets are seductive, secrets are what we seek. We want answers, we want light. We seek darkness, we hide from the darkness. We hide in the darkness, away from the light, perhaps? We are all different, as men and women, as humans. We are individuals, like snowflakes: We're all truly unique. We do share common grounds, however. We eat, we sleep, we seek company in others... and we seek knowledge, secrets from us. We all have secrets, we all have them. In our hearts, in our minds. Our dreams, desires, hopes... our secrets. Those we tell and those we don't. Those we protect, and those we carry to the grave. Our minds are bright with light, light the stereotypical light bulb for the concept of new ideas. It is our moment of EUREKA! It matters not how intelligent each of us are, or how we judge others for the lack thereof, we are all different, yet the same. We have secrets within our hearts. The darkness of our hearts. It always is, always will be part of each of us. Different, yet similar. Darkness of the Heart Edited by SangueEterno, Oct 16 2014, 05:45 PM.

Hatred Addiction By SangueEterno Love, love, love. We love to love. We love to be loved. Love is easy... but hate is easier Love makes us do things for others that normally we would never, ever think of doing normally. Love motivates us to sacrifice for the sake of others... but hate drives us in power, foolish, reckless power... and in that heat of the moment, it feels great Love is easy to fight for, and easy to lose... and yet so hard to let go of. It brings us sadness, and yet brings us satisfaction... but hatred is easy to feel, and hard to lose, and very difficult to let go of so long as we have lost love Love gratifies us / hate destroys us : True Love takes time / hate is quick but hardly fleeting Love is Beauty, Selflessness, it Makes us Feel Good, and gives Us a Purpose to Others hatred is addicting, drives our survival, instills the will to survive, to fight... gives self-purpose over the purpose to others We need Love, we should avoid Hatred... and yet... Hatred. Is. Addicting. Hatred. Is. Invigorating. Hatred. Is. Destructive. (yet powerful) Why do we hate, when we should Love? I want Loveyet hate is my motivation Love makes me happyThere is a certain balance. Two forces, alike, yet different.yet hate gives me purpose Love gives humanity peaceyet hate breeds exciting chaos Humans love... and yet, they just love to hate ............ That's quite all right. It's what we are... who we are. Humans. We love... we hate. |

Moon Shade Crimson By SangueEterno Ever seen a blood moon? The rare event in which the celestial entity bleeds? I have. It's beautiful. It's as if the moon feels as we feel. Although it's obvious that it doesn't feel, as it is a giant rock. Just as clouds do not cry, rain can still be associated with sadness. Rain can be considered the tears of a god, or mother nature's nurturing tears to heal its wounds. Natural occurrences often have spiritual or symbolic meaning to us. As such... The moon, our mother of the night... the ever watching rock which reflects the light of the sun. Let's ignore scientific literals for a moment. Let's think about things on a grand scale of imagination, how the moon hangs high above us (not just in a literal sense). The moon is older than we are as a species. Mother Luna has watched many species rise to sentience, to sapience, to extinction. She has watched and guided us within the night under her soothing light. In a time long before science and understanding, we had mythology. We had faith-driven ideals, a world in which religion which was accepted as fact. Once upon a time, it was widespread that the Earth was the center of the Even with science and the laws of the universe that we (kind of) understand... Nature is far more beautiful than the facts. Life and existence are more than just natural biological processes predetermined by genetic factors passed down through generations of evolution... our society, our lives... our culture, even, is about art and imagination! So let me ask you all again... Ever seen a blood moon? The burden of crimson awe dimly illuminating the sky. Not the soft, "warm" glow of a harvest moon... but the eerie deep shade of the moon's sorrow. The moon phases, in which the moon hides and reveals itself... nothing strikes as more grim on a full moon than if said full moon looks as if it's bleeding to death. The baleful sorrow of a blood moon is an incredible, rare sight indeed. It's beautiful... but sad. But truly, immortality is a curse, and the moon is always there. If the moon TRULY could feel... I wouldn't blame it one bit if it were always angry and depressed. Just look at the world it hangs over. The world whose inhabitants live and die, leaving the moon all alone once again. To us... tears are associated with blue, rainy symbolism. To the moon, perhaps the bloody reflection of the sun is its tears? Edited by SangueEterno, Oct 29 2014, 04:12 PM.

W | H U M | A | N I T Y | R By SangueEterno "World Peace!" That's what most people, if you would ask them, hope for. People of our society hate to see their loved ones go, with the inevitable risk of losing them to a bullet to the brain. Ask most people why they strive for world peace, and that will be one of the many answers. Another fine example of an answer is "War solves nothing, it only creates death." how cute, such adorable naivety Here's the dark, often easily ignored (at least by the population with HOPE still in their hearts) truth of the world... the very society we live in: War is what humanity has always done. It is what we, as humans, will always do. Why? Great amounts of it revolve around land disputes and resource deprivation. Both of these are true. In and of itself, war exists within us as humans. Wars are fought to destroy another force, but for a purpose! In this society, let me ask you... let me ask you all... What makes this society we've built? What's been the basis of it all?obviously past our primal need for survival Money Money, the currency in which we all use (for various reasons, living being the most important) on, at least, a regular basis. Currency, whether it be gold, eastern rupees, or the finely printed dollar bills, have been the basis for getting ANYTHING done in this world we live in. And peace... does NOT make the world more profitable. Money will rule humanity through the government than the creativity, spirit, hopes, and dreams that we as the citizens of the world hope for. Most of us cling to the notions of peace and love... but the values of instinct should teach us: It is more natural in human development, from young, to take and be greedy, than to selflessly give. It is more natural to scream, become violently angry and KILL our foes who would deny us, than it is to forgive and let go. These morals that stop our animal natures from taking over are things we created, and for good reason. That unfortunately does not change much. Our instincts tell us we need to eat... that we need to drink water and to rest when we're tired. Our instincts, despite our morals, still exist. The poor and the hungry will take from others, even if they have to hurt them in the process. Why? Because they're hungry. It's natural, and hard to control. Therefore... this unsightly lust for war within us as humans is just another instinct. We should be ethical, yes... We should be as peaceful as we can, indeed... We should respect one another, and the things that other people own, I agree... But world peace just isn't going to happen in humans. We are WAR INCARNATE. All the histories of man, in all cultures, are stained bloody with war and hate. War creates hatred, despair, and cultural scars that may never be healed. It does, however, also generates money. "To the Victor goes the Spoils", is how the appropriate phrase goes. It is true, for as long as we've existed... from ancient China's bloody eras of war to Europe's many struggles, even to today's modern warfare across the world... war is just another part of humanity, the violent creatures we are. |

Karma Cycle By SangueEterno Some people believe in karma, some people don't. Some even call it the law of attraction. Just as some people are spiritual, some people are the farthest thing from it. Karma is reinforces the idea of generally being a good person... most people who believe in karma tend to avoid doing bad things as a result. Some people really don't care about the repercussion backlash. It seems highly restrictive, but highly rewarding. What if there were a loophole? But then again, how does one escape karma (if it truly even exists)? For example: You love the ones you care about, those closest to you. Dearly so, you can't live without them... but you want to die. Wishing for death, you might think (or maybe just myself), would attract the death to those you love due to the intricate nature of karma / the law of attraction. How... how does one escape it? If karma does not exist, in such an event, that would be wonderful. But what if it did? Perhaps it would give you more reason to die I suppose. But then you worry... you worry about the fact that what you're doing is selfish and you don't want those you love to die, and you want to die and you give just them a reason to be depressed and contemplate death themselves due to the fact they just lost a very close loved one, and they wonder why if you had loved them so much you were so selfish and kill yourself... But when you're dead, what does it matter? There's peace in death, leaving the poor sods who still live in dread themselves in their own misery. But emotions... aren't that simple. You want to die, you don't want them to die. A schizophrenic death wish, writhing around on the karma cycle. What you wish is selfish and, by definition of "good and evil" (concepts which I don't even believe exist), is bad. And by the laws of karma, you might not get what you wish... exactly the opposite, perhaps. But you just want to die! But the universe wants you to live in depression and anger! It's not fair! Life isn't fair, you weak INSIGNIFICANT fool! Karma rewards the good, punishes the bad. Like a parent, it watches over you and treats you accordingly. Is this wrong? No. But what if you want to die? What if you want to escape life? Karma punishes you for your own free will, while your death decimates the emotional being of the ones you love. In theory, you'd possibly reincarnate (if you believe in that) as something worse off than you were. Punishment that extends beyond the grave. Or maybe, depending on your religion, you exist eternally in an infernal afterlife of extreme pain that never ends. Or even, you are brought back to witness the end of the world, those who would rise above the clouds while fire and brimstone rain upon you. Or even, wander eternally as a ghost, in pain watching over those you love in torment. Karma is truly a wicked invention... whatever, or whoever made it. |

Echoes of Genocide By SangueEterno The power is at your fingertips. All it takes is one order. A single command. One drop of the hammer. Just one call... and they all die. The sweat drips from your brow as you consider all of that power. Your liege has assigned this burden to you, and for the sake of our country, you must comply. But you consider: With just one command, everybody in that village will die. Is this truly for a better future?, you ask yourself. Once this is all done, though your lord may be proud of your services, you already understand that you won't be able to recover from this night. All of the screams... All of the blood... All of the carnage... All of the fire... All of the innocent lives extinguished... All of the above... all on your call. Hundreds of soldiers, those bound by duty and honor, standing in a line to carry justice and moral integrity for their lord, and for their country. They wait on your call. They are both eager and anxious. The emotions that burn throughout your unit alone rings intensity akin to the slaughter ahead. A harsh lump resides within your throat. You raise your arm, hand open to the darkened, cloudy sky. Your troops steel themselves. Eyes fixated upon the village, you cry out: "This village holds a group of traitors, men! Don't allow hesitation to stop you from the task at hand! The rebels plan to strike at our capital, and this is their base of operations! Now, I know some of you have families here! I know it's going to be painful, but you can NOT spare them! None of them can be spared! Because any of them, and I mean, ANY of them could be part of the rebellion! Even those closest to you could be part of the rebellion to put your country in peril! Leave no man, no woman, not even children alive! As cruel as this may be, this is a direct order from our majesty the King, and we will abide, for his word is the Law! To arms, men! For you are not monsters this night, but unsung heroes of our time! CHAAAAARGE!!!!" With the downward arc of your arm-swing, the thunder of a thousand footsteps gave roar and rumble, an omen of the countless of deaths to come. This is not about wrong or right, only loyalty and militant obedience. This was the prelude of destruction, the Echoes of Genocide. |

What is a Hero? By SangueEterno Heroes, throughout all of history, have taken many shapes and forms. Heroes are, in essence, those we look up to whether for guidance or for safety. Many think heroes are those who stand up for the minorities, and many others think that heroes are those who smite the wicked, and fight for the good of mankind. The wicked and the villainous are usually easily defined. But really, open your mind: What is a Hero? A hero is... The man who kills the entire bandit encampment, of which recently slaughtered the innocent... The woman who steals food to feed her children... The young man that ends the guard's life to free his father from prison... The one who sacrifices innocents for the sake of many more... The one who starts a bloody rebellion to fight for freedom... The man who instills martial law for the safety of others, only to be scrutinized and hated... The one who fights for the ideals of others, no matter how wicked they may seem... A hero can be any of the above. Heroes fight for the sake of others, regardless of whether or not what they're fighting for is right or wrong. Everybody can be a hero at some point. Cao Cao of Cao-Wei, one of the kingdoms of ancient China's Three Kingdoms era, was a hero despite his brutal methods. Nobunaga Oda of Japan's feudal era, another famous example, was noted to be a particularly cruel man, but had plenty of loyal followers. Suppose you are a dark individual, and you seek to end the life of another out of pure malice. Likely case scenario, you're a hero to somebody. To others you are a scourge. On that same note! To rescue somebody innocent of a crime, you are a hero to that person and those who care about that individual, and yet you may be a criminal and a menace. A hero is often hated, and a villain is often admired and adored! But there lies the question: When are you a villain, and when are you a hero? My friends, there is no difference. Am I advocating murder? Surely not, but in the instance that you may do so, you will be making somebody's day. At the same time you will be ruining someone else's day (a lot of people, more like). The term hero is both outdated and incredibly relevant to the current society we all dwell within today. Everybody needs a hero. The real question beyond "What is a Hero?" is "Be careful what you're remembered for". |

The Body Betrays By SangueEterno Your mind unbound by / from the primitive law of survival; both wired to fight or flee, and yet aware of greater things within your existence. You speak freely of moral ethics and press on for higher intellect! And yet... your body betrays you. Primal entities grip you from the void within. Your thoughts, though free, will be bound and constricted when you hunger. In a state of desperate starvation, your only thought... eat. Instincts, right? True, true... and yet in a world where we've built a society (all of course, in attempt to escape the survival game) in which we all dwell within today, the body betrays. When backed against a wall, your foes looming overhead for the kill, rarely would you think to talk softly and confidently (if of course, you are at a complete disadvantage and you know it). You're going to tremble, fear welling from within your very soul. Fight or flight. Fight or flight. But you're surrounded? Fight it is, then.. Bloody carnage, of course, follows suit. Either you lie dead or they do, and to the victor goes the spoils. In the end, it was all a whim of instinct, your inner drive to survive. For you see, despite WHO you are... you cannot escape WHAT you are. You are an animal, a beast within. Your true goal is to survive... what you are comes first and foremost, even if you forget it. Who you are resurfaces once your life isn't in the eye of death. This isn't anything new, of course. You are a human being. Your mind is a grand treasure that you should cherish. But remember... when you're in a point of breaking, when your life hangs in the balance... or, even simply with lustful, primal urges... the body betrays. |

Lovely Intoxication By SangueEterno Life produces strife, and struggles within. Whether it is within the jungle of trees, or the jungle of buildings. What do we turn to when our limits have been met? Some take their worries away with thrills of adventure and risk, others take the lives of others... or even their own. What about those of us who survive? To those who choose not, I give them the utmost admiration, for when life gives many people lemons, they drown it all away in Lovely Intoxication. Some use alcohol, some use drugs, but the goal tends to be the same. The inebriation of a substance away from the turmoil of reality brings solace to the weary soul. It destroys more than it heals, to be sure. But for those living in that moment of reprieve it is all that matters. Life is hard, even moreso for those who suffer chronic illness. And yet, humanity offers immediate and momentary peace. The nature of intoxication brings people together. For fun, or for peace of mind, or even for an escape from their own turmoil. The end is irrelevant, within that moment of peace and joy. That moment where life's trouble all but disappears: Lovely Intoxication. Edited by SangueEterno, Sep 12 2015, 06:42 PM.
