Welcome to Thezone's Earth Realm subforum for roleplaying. This section of the website is intended for gaming only in a much more casual environment while withholding some of our more traditional competitive aspects of our ancestral spiritual predecessor from CompuServe. Now while fighting and killing is encouraged per usual, it is imperative that we operate a more functional continuity in order for storylines to thrive and establish. There are but a few current guidelines that should be upheld here whereas such places in TZDL there's a lot less of a lax ruleset:

[tabs=50%][tab=Forum Rules]

Forum Rules

The guideline to the forum is slightly intricate but incredibly simple to follow.

  • You must submit a character profile sheet before allowed admittance here
  • You are only granted admission if the profile sheet is approved of.
  • Profile sheets for each character must be submitted in the Character Data Thread, and approved characters will enter the Earth Report forum.
  • You are not to post Out Of Character content in this forum. All ooc material is designated in the ooc section.
  • You can use any scene you like out of the arena to establish events or storylines. You may reference TZDL history.
  • Abide by the Ban/Regulation list of this forum in the B&R tab. It is very short and much more liberal than TZDL.
  • There may be special events of conditions announced in this sticky or others. Please read them.
  • The minimum word limit acceptable in this forum is 300.
  • You may create any group or organization outside of the Prologue thread tailored to your liking, but please keep it within manageable and reasonable confines of the story. This forum is awfully new and character interaction is much more encouraged.
  • You may use characters and work from established fiction series provided it follows the ban and regulation list. You may also use original work and face-claims.
  • All events must take place in Earth or the universal in which Earth resides in. Events in [closed] or [open] roleplay can have other worlds involved provided that it leads back to the make universal canon. All events in earth's universe is canon and no separate roleplay threads can be created (such as alternative earth or roleplays not related to the overall canon).
  • Earth is modern day 20xx which means everything that is happening now and maybe the next 20 years or so.

Thread Creation

There aren't many rules to creating a topic other than the thread title and it's invitational format. The current system for topic creation will only follow 2 types of threads, and must be in brackets:

Open Default setting for the topic if no other indication is given in the topic title. Everyone and anyone can join for any given reason. You may use [Open] in the topic title to specify that there is no special condition to participate.
ClosedInvite only condition by the thread creator for any reason he may or may not specify, but if no [Closed] indicator is in the topic title then it is Open by default.

Extra Conditions

These are extra conditions for a thread that you may or may not want to use so it's entirely optional. These can be placed either in the description, topic title, or somewhere in the original post as a ooc footnote

Lethal
Battle damage is not only permanent but death is also enforced. Lethal threads can be announced as default and are generally assumed default if no other indication is specified in the original post in any capacity
Non-Lethal - NL
Though battle damage may be inflicted and permanent, death is not enforced or can occur at all. All threads are lethal by default unless stated otherwise with the NL tag used either in the original post, topic title, or topic description. NL can be announced as default for all topics under special circumstances, so please read any announcements.

[/tab][tab=B & R List]This is the Ban and Regulation List for Earth Realm and all characters within it. This is a list of regulated powers and roleplaying mechanics that should be either outright prohibited or reasonably scaled to accommodate competition and character variety; however, this list is subject to change and is far more lenient than TZDL where centralized fighting takes place. Please abide by this list when submitting a profile entry:

Ban List
BubblingThe act of surrounding an opponent or encasing them instantaneously from all directions. May refer to the action of a converging attack as well from every direction in one post.
AutohittingTo automatically hit an opponent, especially in the same turn an action is specified. Every attack must be treated as an oncoming threat that an opponent must reply to no matter its potency.
Godmodding To manipulate or control a player's character other than their own in any way. How a character responses and initiates is only solely controlled by the author unless otherwise stated via permission from the author or a ruling by staff.
Powergaming An act of using exuberant power inappropriate with the ruleset or abilities to continuously shrug off dangers imposed upon their character. A character whose power or resilience can only be matched by strict means of scaled up power that only few exceptions may prevail in matching them, especially ignoring an established power scale of a forum. The action of specially crafted one-upping powers and feats.
Infinites To have limitless or unabated access. Resources of all means should have a finite use, and that includes capital, money, and power whether influential or paranormal.

Regulation List
Dimensional ManipulationTo create, subvert, redirect, alter, or otherwise twist reality or space. The act of creating realities is banned, and large scale subversion of reality is also prohibited. The act of changing reality should be soften and minute, and redirection of reality is also reduced.Ruling: Portals or space warps that redirect is allowed provided it is not upscale to mass-destruction levels and reasonably limited. Conjuring of forces from elsewhere is also reasonably acceptable provided it follows the guide lines of the B/R list. Please be aware of the stacking regulation.
NullificationTo render power(s) or abilities minute or significantly mundane. Especially crafted tools or simple abilities that strip or incapacitates opponent(s) abilities to execute their skillset.Ruling: Nullification can only be applied if permission is granted by the authors of a character or a special condition authorized by the staff with very strict boundaries. The act of "canceling" or "negating" an opponent are two entirely different concepts and are not applied. An example of nullification will be: a special field that cancels all magic, or a device that inhabits psychic powers, and so on.
Mass DestructionLarge scale destruction, especially to sweep a large scene or field in a few actions. The focus of potency of a single attack that can obliterate anything in contact without recourse.Ruling: The power-scale of Earth Realm and subsequent Zones vary and are not strictly numeric. No single attack should bring ruin to an entire continent unless special conditions are met within storyline parameters. Extreme limits on the interval of unblockables and high powerful moves is recommended. A character may destroy a piece of a city or an entire city, but only when permitted by story or when enough consecutive damage is dealt in a fight to warrant it.
RetroactiveAction that, by the player, undo or mitigate former action to avoid particular situations. The act of omitting an action or alternating commitment to accommodate new information.Ruling: In accordance with TZDL2012 FRT rulings, retroactive actions are regulated. A player's character must adhere to some form of commitment to their previous action but may cancel when enough appropriate time in the Chronological Order allows it. Move canceling of an action can only be given when a situation calls for it, like having enough time or momentum to adjust to an ever changing situation or if an adequate foreshadowing occurs. The ordinance implies regulations to retroactive substitutions as well, such as literal NPC or Permanent substitutions.
Mime or MimicryThe act or ability to replicate powers, abilities, or skillsets unique of other characters or the alleged coupling of signature maneuvers outside of normal. Can designate mimicry to an power or ability that either replicates exactly or a cavalcade or substituted elements to achieve the same effects.Ruling: Mimes or mimicry shall be highly regulated for only specialized skillsets, and merely limited to substitutional elements unless the conditions for the specific power or ability can be easily replicated by a user of the same class or who have the same main set of power. The act of power consumption is a whole other debate, and those who defeated their opponents and at them only may use a power(s) of theirs when appropriate. The more intricate and complex an ability, power, or attack type the least adequate a complete replicate can be made; Likewise, the knowledge and principles of said power should also be taken into consideration.
Fast Reaction TimeAn ability, power, or act describing one's own ability to register immediate actions and digest information of said action quickly. Usually to denote a character's not only reflex but threat level assessment within a small or confined window of time necessary to respond appropriately, such examples having higher FPS eyesight.Ruling: The speed to register, digest, and problem solve may or may not be regulated but will be calculated along the chronological order as part of a character's move count. Essentially the speed of an FRT will exceed the exact and actual speed of the user. This, along with retroactives, mean that the more intense and rapid an action onto an oncoming user the more less time an adequate solution can be improvised or concocted. FRTs does not represent the physical speed of its user, nor does the perception of "time slowing down" represent the actual speed of the chronological order between two parties as it will then subscribe to Godmodding.
PoisonAilments or harmful substances that causes or creates adverse effects or symptoms to a user or opposer, usually through physical contact either airborne or adsorption. The lethality of toxins vary in significant degreesRuling: Poisonous elements cannot be airborne during competitive play unless within a small parameter around the user or area. Chemical warfare should primarily remain waterborne in accordance with the Mass Destruction ruling, and effects that decay or erode on a molecular level must have significant limits whether it would mean intense drain or area of effect.
