Welcome, Comrade, to Super LP Bros.

Super LP Bros is a website mainly dedicated to the magical world of "Let's Play's". A Let's Play is a video or series of pictures in which the creator plays through a video game (usually from start to finish) and explains all about the game and shows off little-known details along the way. Our aim is to bring the LPing community together. It's our goal to offer help to anyone who strives to improve their own Let's Play's. If you've read to this point I'd say it's high time you join our little community. You'll be making new friends and improving your LP's in no time. We may not be the most "Politically Correct" forum out there, but we all have a good time. Registration is simple, fast, and only requires you to sell us your soul.

Howdy, my name is Noel.

As a human, I am 22 and work full time as an artist. I go to college when it is convenient because I am a shameless keener and have always enjoyed learning environments, and what little free time I have left is usually spent working with canine rehabilitation. I am difficult to offend, and clumsy to the the most extreme possible. It isn't a question of will I accidentally hurt myself today, it is how, and how many times. That's alright though, I'm also terribly absent minded and usually don't notice that I've just tripped over a dog for the fifth time in an hour and slammed my knee against the desk.

(Although I have to contest the myth that clumsiness is cute. No, despite whatever show you've watched that had a clumsy little girl that made everyone go "D'awwwww," they're lying to you. Straight to your face, through their teeth, however you like, it is a lie. Hilarious, maybe. I don't mind being laughed at, and usually and the first to laugh at myself, but there isn't anything cute about it. There just isn't.)

As a gamer, I enjoy all sorts of games. My favourites are, without shame, psychological thillers/horror. Something that is going to get into my head and make me flinch and jump at noises over my shoulder and key up the adrenaline enough that you can't go to sleep immediately at night. I can stomach gore, but I don't really feel like it adds doodly-squat to a game and a gorefest isn't a frightfest. I also delight in logical puzzle type games. Adventures, RPGS, you name it, I'm sure I enjoy something in that category. I am inexplicable and laughably bad at platformers. The simpler the jump, the more likely that I just cannot do it. I also cannot play shooters for extended periods of time. I usually feel very guilty for killing the enemies and end up taking a break to get over it. (F.E.A.R. made me feel so guilty, poor clones.) I enjoy them and am relatively good at them, but I play them in limited amounts.

I am prone to dying in all types of games - not necessarily because I'm a bad gamer, but because I suffer from insatiable curiosity. I'm the person who will be playing The White Chamber and go, "Will she REALLY open that door if I ask her to do it again and die?" ... and then I ask the character to do it again, and inevitably die. The first time I played SH2, Pyramid Head showed up for the first time at the end of the corridor. I started to flee like a wuss, and then stopped, and slowly turned James around. We eased down the hallway, jumping and twitching with every crackle of the overhead lighting and shadow cast by the flashlight until I finally got right up to the door. I then steeled up my nerves and banged on the door with the plank because I was so horribly curious whether or not PH would come through and slaughter my impudent self for doing that. So yes, I die. A lot. Usually in things that are such blatant death that I have to wonder if it is REALLY death. ("Can I walk off that cliff? ....Yep.")

As an Lper... I simply am not at this point. I do, like many, have plans to do my own LPs, but I have this problem of needing to be too thorough, so I spent more time doing research than I probably needed to. (For example, yes I have read the rules, and also many of the other introductory topics where one of the first replies is always a gentle and friendly reminder to read the rules. /keener)

I did finally settle on equipment that pleases me, and just finished doing a test LP that I had no intention of uploading, I just watched it myself, along with a friend, and found out the areas I need to work on before I start doing LPs seriously. It was a fantastic test, and I learned a lot. Anyone else who reads this tl;dr, I'd suggest you do the same. I don't particularly care about e-fame or having people watch me play. My main reason for doing LPs is because the community is something I and one of my best friends both enjoy. She's on the other side of the country at this point in our lives, however, so I really am just recording and playing for myself and her to enjoy. Anyone else who stumbles along it on the way is welcome, but unnecessary.

I found the LP community about three years ago - a friend of mine was playing in a video with Chuggaaconroy, and had me watch it. I'd never heard of Let's Playing before, so I curiously looked up games I liked and got lucky and immediately found some of my favourite LPers, even today.

Sorry, I'm verbose. Also I dont ever know how to introduce myself so I make up for it by talking too much. If this topic was just too much for you to read, here's the readers digest version of my introduction:

Blah blah blah, lots of text, awkward hello, blah blah, blah blah blah.
