| Welcome, Comrade, to Super LP Bros. Super LP Bros is a website mainly dedicated to the magical world of "Let's Play's". A Let's Play is a video or series of pictures in which the creator plays through a video game (usually from start to finish) and explains all about the game and shows off little-known details along the way. Our aim is to bring the LPing community together. It's our goal to offer help to anyone who strives to improve their own Let's Play's. If you've read to this point I'd say it's high time you join our little community. You'll be making new friends and improving your LP's in no time. I searched that guide and didn't see this particular glitch
I probably wouldn't use this glitch, but I thought I should bring its existence to your attention so you could forbid it if you wish. |

Yeah, that one is quite an interesting one. Edit: I gave nothing, see? Double Edit: Going with what Naka said, I don't think the glitch is possible. Or really helpful anyway. |

The Screw Attack is simple, you just need to know how to open a green one-way door from the wrong side. |

I'd join, but I suck at Super Metroid enough as it is. Throw in all these fancy tricks and sequence breaking, and I'm lost. ![]() But I think it's a great challenge and something I'd be interested in seeing.

I'm tempted to try this....but I still have scars from Super Metroid Impossible. Having to complete all of that hack (namely fucking Norfair & Ridley) except the Tourian, without either the Varia or Gravity suits...is not a wound that heals quickly.... |

Cfalcon, you just gave information to your competition. They will use it against you. I suggest not doing so in the future. DarkHamster, similar, however if memory serves that trick requires frame-precision and is still almost impossible to do. edit: I'll say that though the X-ray glitch is impossible (as far as I know) to do in real time, if you could theoretically pull it off, I'm banning the glitch from this run. Meh, I've decided not to do this anyway, You guys go ahead and have fun without me. I've found doing stuff like this isn't my forte, so again, have fun and good luck to all of you guys ![]() Edit: No it has nothing to do with that info or me feeling guilty about it. The fact that school won't give me enough time to record is the reason why. |

Okay folks, I've set things up and gathered what information I can. I'm ready to get this thing underway. Since I'm competing as well, I've already recorded my run, and it's being uploaded as I speak. When I close submissions I'll make my own run public so you can check the upload time to confirm I didn't cheat off of anybody. Rules for submission! -Collect as many items as possible. The one with the most wins. -You can kill no bosses or minibosses. If it never comes back after you kill it, it's off limits. You CAN kill Ridley on the space colony, and Torizo for the bombs. -Only crop out deaths and restarts, nothing else -Feel free to speed up anything else you think is boring. -Submit videos to me, personally, via forum PM. Do NOT post it here on the board. You don't want people cheating off of you do you? -Videos can either be uploaded to a site like Viddler or YouTube, and a link passed to me, or to a file-uploader like mediafire. -Any tricks or glitches are allowed EXCEPT any variation of the Var beam, and the X-ray glitch. -No savestates, slowdowns, or cheats of any kind. Preferrably play on the original system. -Saving and loading via the game's own save system is allowed. -At the end of the video please save and exit to the title and show your game save on the game load screen. The reason for this is that it shows the game time. -All ties will be broken by time, so be quick as well. If this goes well, there will be later rounds, where I'll hold a poll to determine which boss we can kill, opening up more items to get. Rewards! Four badges: The first video section will be by far the largest, potentially containing over half the items in the game, and possibly taking more than an hour. As such, the winner of round one gets its own badge. Should this go into later rounds, the overall winner gets a badge. Also, should this go into later rounds, the lowest overall time wins a badge. To win this though you must complete the game 100% and finish the bosses in the polled order. To prevent someone from going only for time, ignoring the rest of the competition. Finally, this badge will be given to one person (that's not me), no matter how things go. This will go to the person with, in my own opinion, the most impressive run. Show me an unexpected trick, something I wouldn't have thought of, something unique.Participants! NakaTeleeli DarkHamsterlord Cfalconforever (drop out) MeccaPrime (Possibly) Sharky2107 zigemm Blaman BMS (possibly) Deadlines! Since this is a long segment, I'll give a lot of time. Two weeks from today, so the end of the day, April 22nd, to submit your run to me. If everyone feels they need more time, I'll consider expanding the deadline. |

Alrighty, considering that the Sonic Race is winding down, and I'm starting to get my college work somewhat under control, I think I'm gonna give this a try. But of course, since I'm rather slow, I need a few things cleared up. How exactly is this going to be played? I understand no boss/mini-boss, but is there a set path we need to follow, or are we each allowed to go our own way? If the latter is the case, then how will the videos bet set up in terms of goals. For instance you mentioned for the first video we should wipe out Ridley and the Bomb Torizo....after this is it up to us the path we choose, or what? Finally, how will scoring be handled, after each video, or just once (when everybody has given up/actually collected everything that's possible? |

I'm doing the whole first section in one go. No set path or anything. Just take off running and get every item you can however or whenever you can. When you've admitted to yourself you can't get any more items, end the update and show the load screen with the game time on it. This may take you three videos, it may take you nine. I'll watch through each video set and count up the total items collected by each person. It's pretty open ended. The first round here will be a pretty large one, but after this they should all be considerably less (one or two videos). So let's see here... no set path, you can go about however you want, no real goal per video, and items will be tallied up come the end of the entire video set. I wanted to give people as much freedom as possible, and this is the only real way I could think of to do that. |

To clarify, I've made one of my videos public to serve as an example of what I'm expecting video and editing-wise. I've added a good few annotations to see if that helps answer a few of the questions people have been asking. SLPB Super Metroid BMB round 1 part 3/9 |

At least that help me out on what to do on the Video. Anyways, I know this is optional, can we put up a item counter in our Vids, or do you perfer for us not to have that in the Video itself. Anyways this will be fun to do. Now for more practice. |

If you want to put one in, go right ahead. All I require is the gameplay, any extra effort is nice, though. |
